I'm trying to make a good balance between fat, protein and carbs. How can I make that balance? I'm vegeterian (I still eat eggs and cheese) still overweight. :(

I'm also a vegetarian (actually pescatarian) and was 100+ pounds overweight. You can still eat too many calories, even if they aren't from animal protein.

On the bright side, I'm down 57 pounds in 6 months and, yep, still a vegetarian. Just eat what you normally eat, just less of it.

I'm vegetarian too! It took me a while to reach balance, but I did it! I feel wonderful. Here is where I get my nutrients on a daily basis.

Protein: Nonfat greek yogurt (plain), protein bars & protein powder supplements (be careful with these, as many are overprocessed. Always check the ingredients and nutrition facts!)
Fat: Plain Nuts (unsalted), natural peanut butter or homemade nut butter
Carbs: Veggies, fruit, and healthy snacks like air popped popcorn or air popped chips

I've lost exactly 100 pounds, 70 of those since becoming vegetarian. I feel better than ever :) The biggest thing is to make sure you're getting in your fat and protein -- I've found that's what keeps me feeling full and energized. Best of luck! I'm available to answer more questions if you have them!

I'm a vegetarian. I've lost almost 23 pounds so far and am still going. To reach my balance of macros, I focus first on protein. I've set a goal of 100 grams a day and meet it through non-fat Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, beans, lentils, bean pasta, eggs, and protein powder and bars. After that, most of my intake is mainly vegetables, fruits and a maybe a small amount of whole grains. I tend to moderate my carb intake as too high or too low leaves me feeling fatigued. For fats, I use small amounts of olive oil when cooking and eat almonds and almond butter on occasion.

My diary is public if you want to take a look.

Have you considered a protein powder? It's difficult to maintain your protein intake as a vegetarian

I'm vegetarian. I actually decided to become vegetarian this year. I want to transition to veganism eventually. Feel free to add me.

I get my fats from seeds (pumpkin/sunflower) and almonds, protein from Greek yogurt, Quest bars, etc. My carbs are generally cereal, fruit, some sort of grain. It depends.

I became a vegetarian this year myself. :D

Becoming a vegetarian doesn't equal quick & speedy weight loss. Still have to find a balance, still have to move. I'm seeing a nutritionist to make sure I'm doing things right (I'm also endurance training: duathalons, 10K, etc). She has me making sure I'm adding iron rich foods into my day (spinach, potatoes), adding certain supplements, ground flax seed, &, if towards the end of the day, I find I'm running low on protein, then I can use a protein drink, but usually I'm ok with Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, eggs, tofu.

I've been slacking this last week (I know, don't have to yell! My body feels it!) But when I eat "clean" I feel & preform better. And by clean, I mean fresh (if possible) fruits & veg, non-processed foods, and eating throughout the day, not waiting for hours & hours to eat. I usually have a little cooler with me with like string cheese, strawberries, etc in it in case I'm out & about so I'm not in a "lurch".

Takes a little mind-shift, but you can figure it out. Listen to yourself, get advise, and try it out. Feel free to add me, if you want.
