as long as you are burning what you eat it should not matter - and if your goal is set for weight loss (a deficit) then it should not matter.0

No, calories are the most important factor for weight loss. Fat is not necessarily a bad thing, especially if you're getting the healthy kinds of fats. Make sure your fat goal is set high enough, too - the default MFP standards set carbs very high and fat and protein pretty low. I think the general recommendation is something like .45g of fat per pound of bodyweight, but don't quote me on that. That would be, for example, about 67g of fat per day for a 150-pound person.
If you find that you're consistently going over a reasonable fat goal, and a lot of that fat is coming from junk, try increasing your protein and healthy carb intake to decrease the fat by comparison. Otherwise, I wouldn't worry about it!0 -

My fat is from pretty good sources (avocado, egg ...). I have a hard time getting enough protein, though. I usually don't meet my goal for protein, and I'm using the MFP settings. I do come close, though.0

Nope. Too much fat doesn't make you fat, too many calories do. You should work on getting enough protein, though. I struggle with that, myself. Pure Protein makes a shake that is 120 calories, with 23g of protein. I've been drinking those lately, and they're surprisingly good.0
