Hello, I've increased my exercise big time in the last few weeks and feel I great as long as I'm moving but if I relax for awhile or especially when I get up in the morning.....my goodness I feel as rigor mortis has set in!! Good grief!! Anyone else feel this way? I push myself to exercise and always feel wonderful afterwards. It just seems to get you while you are being lazy or sleeping. Who is invading our bodies while we are at rest?? Hope I'm not alone in this!! lol

Something that may help (it helps me) is a mild stretch a few hours after I work out. Just to loosen up those muscles that are getting tight. Nothing that intense, just some smooth, even stretches to limber things up a little . and of course, plenty of water... LOL

I feel like that every morning. But it goes away after some coffee and a little walking around.

Whew! Glad to know I'm not the only one lol. I drink tons of water especially since it's warmed up. I think I'm up to 16 glasses today. I am guilty of not stretching though and I worked out for 105 mins today. I agree it does ease up after moving around:) I'm guessing it's part of the aging process(do not like) and it's impossible to keep moving 24/7.

Sounds like Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness. Stretching afterwards really helps me, although after an especially intense or new workout, I usually end up sore no matter what I do.

I have experienced this doing squats and lunges something my body wasn't use to. Felt fine until the next day. Yes, DOMS is not comfortable but thank goodness it doesn't last but a few days. What I'm experiencing now is more of a stiffness while at rest but it eases up and eventually goes away during the day.

Does your stiffness change with your workouts? It still sounds like a mild case of DOMS to me.

Unlike what I am going to feel tomorrow: that will be a major case of DOMS.

I feel like I'm 100 yrs old in the morning. When I got home tonight I was laying on the floor playing with the dog & thought I wouldn't be able to get up! I hurt everywhere... Dam job! :-/
