eat less, sleep less?

i've noticed that i consistently wake up a lot earlier if i eat 1200 or under calories the previous day. if i go a little overboard on my cals, especially those late night meals after the gym at like 10 pm, i will sleep foreverrrr. but i've really cut down on my calories lately (and have been eating insanely healthy, mostly vegetables) and i've been waking up a whole hour or even 2 earlier than normal. i don't feel tired at all during the day though. on the contrary i have a lot more energy! is this normal, does it happen to anyone else?

I don't know if it's the reduced calories for me or increased exercise, but I am definitely needing less sleep lately. I got up a little early this morning to exercise and I didn't even mind. I am not at all a morning person but I feel more clear-headed recently. i thought I was just starting to recover from "baby-brain" after having twins 16 months ago, but maybe it's the food/exercise changes. Hmmm.

I have really got into a bad habit of staying up late several nights in a row. My husband had the flu last weekend as well as other people being sick at work. I did go to bed somewhat early last night because (lack of sleep) was catching up with me. Felt great today. Its amazing since I exercise regularly that my "quality" of sleep keeps me healthy despite my lack of "quantity." My husband exercises regularly but I don't think he eats enough fruits and veggies like I try too.
