I have been wondering I wanna lose about 30-40 lbs and hopefully alot more inches, do you think if I stop eating junk and stop with the cheat days and just eat very clean also I do the Leslie Sansone walk away the pounds dvd I do the 3 mile walk starting to do it now 3-5 times a week some days depending on how I feel and if I have the time I'm going to start to do it 2 times a day, anyways do you think by doing this all I could lose the 30-40 lbs by the end of June? if I start right away like tomorrow that is. also for anyone who does the Leslie Sansone work outs please give me a list of your fave ones I'd love to order more they are so much fun I just love it.

  • Tell me about it. I felt lost too until I found intermittent fasting. Your plan sounds great! You have to also ask yourself "can I stick to this plan for life?" and if you can then I'm sure you will succeed :)

You just need to eat at a calorie deficit. Don't try and lose super fast, you'll be disappointed and probably extremely lacking in calories if you choose to not eat them back. Walking has been my go to, I have a little than you to lose, and I've already lost about 50lbs.

Just do something that you enjoy, you'll be more likely to keep it up.

Eat in a calorie deficit and you'll lose. You don't need to cut anything out, just eat less than before.

Your goal, however, is pretty aggressive. Healthy weight loss is .5-2 pounds per week, with the highest number generally meant for people with more than 75 pounds to lose. You'll be better off setting your goal to a pound a week and aiming for half that loss, which should be doable.

caloric deficit is all that's required.

Thank you everyone yeah after i thought about what I said about 30-40 in 3 months that is way too much too fast you're right, I don't even eat my cals back that i burn off I try to eat no more than 1300-1400 cals a day, I'm a walker I love to walk I feel the happiest after I walk, and with winter I haven't got out much to walk so I've started the walking dvs and I'm hooked love them,so i do plan on eating clean and doing this for the rest of my life because to me this isnt a short term thing I'd never do it now if I didn't want to change my life style for good.

OP, you have a lot going on your post/question. Everything runs together since you don't use much punctuation ;)

    1. Losing 30-40 pounds in 16 weeks is an average of 1.875 to 2.5 pounds a week. Unless you are morbidly obese, this is an accelerated and challenging rate of weight loss.

    2. "Stop eating junk" is a relative term. I have chocolate every day but I don't consider it junk. It's a treat that I've earned by managing my daily intake and exercise.

    3. "Stop with the cheat days" is somewhat relative, too. Why cheat yourself after you've worked so hard? If you have days where you know you'll be over your calorie goal--like celebrating a birthday dinner with friends--work out more and eat lighter before and after.

    4. "Just eat clean" doesn't equal weight loss. I know someone who eats very clean and she is 40 pounds overweight. Still, eating minimally processed foods is an admirable goal and should definitely be part of your new dietary plan.

    5. "Walk away the pounds DVD" is a great starting point. I've never used Leslie Sansone, just went to the gym and cranked up the treadmill incline and pace as I got more fit. Whatever works for you is how to proceed. Do what you love and you'll keep at it.

    6. "Two times a day" meaning 6 miles of walking? That's admirable but I would suggest that you consider other types of cardio so you don't get burned out on walking. Get yourself some weights for home use or start lifting at a gym. Balance your workouts between cardio and weight training for optimal results.

If you are starting 'tomorrow' and don't have a food scale yet, that should be one of your top priorities. For real accuracy, you need to weight everything you eat. Please don't skip this important step.
