Am liking the Charge HR that I have had for a week and am getting used to plotting meals...looks like I'll be maintaining or gaining more pounds shortly with the direction I'm going! Gonna take some time! I work in a nursing job full time and crash and burn after supper, gonna need to remedy that.....one day at a time! Would welcome new friends!

  • Hello, lindyrodgers. I'm new to this forum as well and anything that's good for me, really. I to bought a Charge HR because I really needed that boost or reminder to get up and exercise. And it was crucial and key that I have a way to detect my heart rate. So I get a lot of use out of this little thing. Plus, I LOVE how it links to the MFP app. As for me, my job as an overnight forklift driver was doing me in along with a horrible western(U.S.) style diet. At work, I never have to walk anywhere because the lift takes me there. The most exercise I get is standing up in this forklift all night. Tack on a couple cheeseburgers or taco bell every night and it's no wonder I shot up to around 320lbs.
But my wake up call came in the form of a diagnoses of type 2 diabetes and a best friend who fell victim to a debilitating, massive stroke. That was my very near future! So I changed...right then and there..That very day! And it has been a little over 5 weeks and I've lost almost 30 pounds and brought my blood sugar levels to consistently normal readings and my AC1 has dropped from an 11 to an 8 and my six month goal was to get it down to a 7 by then. So, needless to say, I've been proud of myself and the hard work I've put in. Your diet is everything though...It's more important than any exercise program. Put good things in your body and the rest will all fall into line...exercise just sped up the slimming process.
This app has been key in my meal and diet success. It's kept me conscious of staying under my 2000 calorie daily limit. And the Charge HR helps me with my workouts and getting the most out of them especially where my heart rate is concerned.
I wish you lots of luck or maybe I should say I hope you take the time to create lots of luck for yourself! I don't really know you but trust me when I say...your worth it!

I also have a Fitbit charge I got for Xmas and it's really helping me stay motivated. I'm here to lose the weight from my last pregnancy. It took me a year to lose all the weight after my first child, and I'm determined not to spend the next year being bummed out about my appearance and feeling unhealthy. Since I started trying to keep my steps up and tracking my calorie intake I've lost 10lbs. I'd love to have a few more friends in this journey as I don't have anyone in real life to share my weightloss related thoughts and questions with.
