How long before a difference?

hello,
So I know it doesn't happen overnight losing all the weight and I know that slow and steady is best...but I'm just curious? How many lbs did you have to lose before you first noticed a difference in your appearance even if a slight one? I've been on this diet and exercising almost 3 weeks now...so far I've lost a little over 9 lbs almost 10...personally I don't see any difference...I try not to weigh myself until 4 or 5 days have passed and each time the number goes down a little...so I'm pretty sure my scale isn't broken...I mean after all I should be losing weight with the schedule I'm following...I'm just ready to see even a little difference in my appearance just so I can believe that what I'm doing truly works and I'll be more motivated that I will reach my goal...I'm sorta scared like if I'm not really losing any weight then maybe I have to see a doctor about my thyroid or something..but I'm taking vitamins so I think that part isn't a problem...any responses will be appreciated:)

I usually pay attention to how my clothes are fitting me. There are skirts and pants that I have packed at the back of my closet because they're too tight, or don't fit well. I pull these out every so often to check my progress.

Congratulations on the weight loss, regardless! 10 lbs in 3 weeks is fantastic progress

Thank you:) I might go buy something I know doesn't fit and see if I can fit after some time

It might take a while, really. You can measure strategic points on your body once a week and compare: waist, hips, thigh, lower leg, upper arm... just make sure you use the same location each time and use the same strength on the tape measure and the same posture

. With clothes it also took a while in my case for the following reason: it took a long time until some weight came off my legs, which really is the most problematic part of my body. My waist was already relatively narrow and all my trousers are too wide there anyway, thus I didn't notice changes right away. Wide shoulder bones: little change. But at a certain time I noticed I wasn't filling up the backside of my trousers anymore, and my bra became a bit too big.

I agree that it's definitely most noticeable in the way clothes fit. I've lost about 25lbs and still haven't quite gone down a jean size, but most pairs I own are much looser, and I have some pairs that used to cut into my stomach that fit comfortably now. I also noticed it in the length of shirts, especially button up styles, because suddenly they were too long and fitting like burlap sacks due to loss in my hips/butt that I never would have noticed otherwise!

Just keep it up & you'll see results. I'm still blown away by the fact that I've lost 25lbs and haven't gone down a size - that's something that maybe would have discouraged me once upon a time. But everyone loses differently and you have to just have faith in the small victories. They will at some point add up to big victories! :D

I COMPLETELY agree - I was so excited to go shopping after I lost 15lbs (it wasn't a goal - I just needed some new clothes for work) and then got into a funk because I hadn't actually dropped a size as I had predicted. Ugh. Oh well - it's a process.
