Question regarding BMR?

So I have been told that you always need to eat above your BMR. I weigh 193 and am 5'10". I calculated my BMR and it is apparently 1738.95. MFP has recommended a daily calorie allowance of 1420. I have been meeting this and exercising, I don't really feel hungry. I am wondering if I should be eating more in order to reach my BMR, It just seems a bit high to me.
I am quite new to this so any insight is helpful.
Thanks!

Entering your exercise and eating back half the calories too so you are meeting this as a net figure I hope
And no you can ignore BMR ...keep an eye on the scales and if over time, say 4-6 weeks you are losing more than your goal weight loss per week, eat back more exercise calories until you find your sweet spot0 -

Everything rabbitjb has said it correct, and based on your TDEE it doesn't look like you're creating too high of a deficit. If you wanted to, however, you could eat closer to 1600 calories and still expect to lose about a lb per week, assuming you are logging accurately. Make sure to eat back half of your exercise calories, because based on your TDEE it sounds like you haven't added exercise into the equation (i.e., calculated at sedentary), or your TDEE would be higher. MFP tends to overestimate calories burned, which is why most people suggest eating back half, as opposed to all, of the calories you burn from exercise. Track your loses, and reevaluate if you are losing too much or too little.0
