I've lost nearly 6 kg recently but my inches remain the same - or even slightly more! Why?

I think you need to lose a lot more than just 6k before you start seeing physical changes.

I have no idea of how big you were to start and what measurements you are taking so I cannot say. Please provide more details.

I'm not sure how much 6 k is but I do know that sometimes it takes a while to lose inches.
you can get rid of inches faster if you do firming exercises like situps to tighten stomach muscles or aerobic exercises to burn fat.

Even though fat kinda goes down uniformly (in theory), in practice you'll probably find you're losing it from other places that aren't quite as noticeable. Also, a lot of people (myself included) find that stomach/hips etc are usually the last places to show progress.

I've noticed that you can lose a lot of fat (in weight) from your legs and arms before actually noticing a visual difference.

If you've lost that much, you've almost certainly lost inches, just not from the places you measure. Some people just measure waist and hips.

I go to the opposite extreme and measure neck, chest, under bust, narrowest part of waist, waist around belly button, thighs, calves, upper arms, forearms, wrists and ankles. Is that necessary...no. However I am glad I do it because there are times when my waist might not move for weeks at a time, but I will lose a lot from these other places and know that what I am doing is working.

The waist was just about the last place to show major reduction...but now that I am closer to goal MOST of the reduction is coming from the waist. It can vary over time.
