Converting salt to sodium content

I wonder if anyone knows a formula for this please?
I have a few of the Good Housekeeping recipe books - started out being just for menu inspiration but now I'm finding the calorie information so useful I went out and bought 2 more books the other weekend! The nutrition information is really really helpful but it gives salt rather than sodium content, so at present I'm not tracking sodium in my diet, which I would like to do.
Would be very grateful if anyone knew a simple way of working it out (or is it not that straightforward?)
Thanks

you can track sodium. just click food (at the top of your screen) then settings. under "nutrients tracked" you can add sodium. I also track cholesterol0

Hi
To convert milligrams of salt to milligrams of sodium divide salt contents by 2.5.
