Sundays Can Be BAD Calorie Days

For me anyway....

After being here or over a month, and tracking religiously, I must say that the trend is definitely Sundays as my days of extra indulgences for whatever reasons (going out to eat, sports on TV, last "relax" day before start of the work week, etc).

Not sure if anyone else here has seen that pattern. But the good thing is recognizing it, and making adjustments in the future to account for this previously un-realized trend.

I eat to my weekly cal goal, not daily cal goals. I eat around 200 cals less a day ( so 1500 instead of 1700) so on the weekends I can go out with very little care. Yesterday I had a single meal of at least 2500 cals (tortilla chips with salsa, enchiladas, deep fried ice cream) had 1700 cals today, and still under my weekly cal goals.

Oh good points here!! Yes, 5 of the other 7 days were under the calorie goal. But I BLEW AWAY my daily limit for Sunday, so I think I probably came close to being net zero for the week.

Why don't you check and see instead of guessing?

I do this too. I like not having to be too careful on the weekends, and I don't have any trouble eating fairly low on weekdays, so having a weekly goal makes a lot more sense for me.

Weekdays are so much easier to eat less on because I'm always busy busy busy. Far less time to let boredom eating thoughts come into my head. Which is why it works out so well to do it this way.

Same. During the week, I'm also totally boring. Same breakfast, the same lunch for each day (whatever I made a bulk lot of on the weekend) and dinners tend to rotate through a few set ones because of evening commitments, so quick and easy is the order of the day. Weekends I can get creative with the cooking, and have far more time on my hands tyo come up with tasty treats.

Add some of the same structure to your Sundays that you have during the week. Eating a similar break fast and lunch at the same time helps some people.
Keep in mind that the entire game plan is to log into the diary every single food item every day.
Also consider what some people do by looking at the weekly average of their intake instead of their daily intake.

I think you'll find this study reassuring, I know I did!

Basically what you eat for 5 days per week during the weekdays is much more important in the long run than what you eat on Sundays.
