does anyone read this stuff?

I try to read the stuff my "fitness pals' post and reply or click "like" to show that I do so. Most of the time it's just notifications that they have logged in so many days, or lost so many pounds. But if someone posts something, I read it. Maybe they want an opinion, maybe they want support. I figure that's the point of being a "pal", right? To be there and read what they post. Sometimes I get replies to what I post, mostly it gets swept away unnoticed. So I started blogging a daily entry and also to try to read some of the other blogs that are posted, These are by random people out there, and I pick one or two and read them and I try to comment so they know someone took the time to read what they wrote...and not those blogs on the front page with many, many votes-someone is reading them, right?... but the ones by people like me with no votes. They also are upset, or lonely, or venting but I see no one has commented. Just like no one seems to ever comment on my blog. That is actually OK. I really have been writing it for myself all this time, just to put some of my feelings down. Yes, I'm sure it's probably boring, or whiny, or just not as well written as some of them out there. But I'm not trying to publish a book, I'm trying to make it through another day without allowing myself to give in to pity. or anger. or frustration. or anything that would give me an excuse to cave in and go and stuff my face like I've done for so many years. I don't have that kind of time anymore. Maybe everyone is really just writing their blogs for the same reason I'm writing mine, just to get through another day.

I read posts and blogs, but I don't really know what to say to others. What works for me isn't going to work for most people. Generally I use these kinds of posts (and posts by friends) to come up with stuff for my blogs. Although I may not go about overcoming things in the same way as others I think it's important to let others know that even successful people have struggled (like myself). Struggles don't mean you are doomed.

I like to read interesting comments, that help me, get my mind more focused on achieving my goals. logging in, exercise, are a given its the reason why we are here on mfp. those don't interest me so much, as the uplifting comments I love and the tips and tricks and quick low calorie tasty delicious recipes and ideas on how to tweak ones plan. Sometimes blogs are just to vent ones own angst, some might learn from it, but its all about trying to move forward towards a victorious day, God willing :)

I read the posts regularly trying to give and get support and motivation. I do thing writing is a great outlet so even if no one responds it's something good that you're doing for yourself. Let me know how I can support you on this journey.

I feel the same way. I try to respond to other MFP friends and sometimes get an answer and sometimes don't. I like when someone responds to a post that is not how many days I logged in but a comment about something I may have written like I did this past week about a fear of girl scout cookies that were brought home. Not a response, could have used one as those things were calling me all weekend long. I think the blog is a good idea and how you are taking time to respond to others is awesome.
So if you need another friend please feel free to add me and I will try to be there for you!
