Another thing off the bucket list!

Yesterday I took a (long) bus trip up to Lake Superior to tour the Apostle Islands ice caves, which has long been on my bucket list. These are extremely unusual both because they are among the very few lake caves (most are sea caves) and because the lake freezes up enough to make it safe only every few years. It was an incredible experience, and to think, last year at this time I was still having trouble walking up stairs! I had my highest ever Fitbit step count (over 22,000!) and my leg muscles are a bit stiff, but I did it!

I'm jealous! I missed the chance to get up there last year. This year there is also no way I'll get up there for this much shorter ice cave window. I'm glad you got this opportunity! They look amazing!0
