Crazy Stair Counts!

I just bought a Charge HR after having used a flex for a year. The flex didn't count stairs so this stat is new to me. In my first 24hours it claims I climbed 30 floors! I live in a one story house on the high plains, which is very flat! I climbed in and out of my pickup today, and that is the extent of my climbing of anything remotely like a stair. I don't really care about this stat being accurate in and of itself, I am just concerned it is erroneously increasing my calorie burn because it thinks I sprinted up 30 fricking story building today! Any thoughts?

I'd just like to know if the stair counts increase your calorie burn. Any idea who to ask? I can't find anything on the fitbit website.0
