how do I factor in breastfeeding?

    It's in the database. I think it's under food as well as exercise, so just pick a place and log it. Exclusively breastfeeding on demand burns about 500 calories.

    Make sure you are drinking a lot of fluids, especially if you are exercising as well as nursing.

    Typically its 250-500 extra cals per day needed to metabolize what the baby is going to eat.

    Weight loss can be slow while breastfeeding. Your body will actually crave more food since it is producing milk. Keep a good food journal so you make sure you get enough calories. If you consume too few you can lower your milk production.

    I was told by my doctor to add 500 more calories a day.
