Protein Bars

After many attempts of protein bars I think I found my favourite recipe.
2 tbsp. of chia seeds soaked in water for a few hours.
30 grms. of oatmeal, added to chia soak.
1-2 large eggs or 2 servings of store bough egg whites total around 60 grms.
1 serving of frozen blueberries. I use 140 grms.
3 scoops of vanilla whey protein.
1/2 tsp of baking powder.
Bake for 350 degrees until centre is cooked.
Depending on what you add the breakdown is usually around 130 cal, 12 carbs, 4 fat, 16 protein. Much of the carbs are fibre.
Let this cool in the fridge for an hour, cut and wrap for breakfast. I eat it with peanut and almond butter.
I have been eating them for a while now. Delicious. The chia soak is essential, and too much protein can make them cardboard like.
They feel like such a cheat but fit completely within my macros. I have been following a diet pretty close to keto and the weight has been coming off pretty effortlessly!
Hope you enjoy!

Howdy! Planning on trying these, but wondering how many servings you cut out of this recipe?0

I get 6 out of them. You could get more if you cut them smaller, but I eat them as a meal.
Hope you like them. It is an acquired taste, but they are delicious for what they are.0 -
Interesting, may try this when I pick up some more chia seeds0

Protein Balls are good too, recipe makes about 15 balls
3 table spoons of natural honey
3 table spoons of dark coco powder
1 tea spoon of coconut oil
1-2 scoops of protein powder ( i use vanillia )
340G jar of peanut butter, crunchy is the nicest
you can add chopped nuts, pumpkin seeds ect to it
mix togther until all binded and roll into little balls, dip in coconut flakes to take the stickyness off them so they can be handled and pop in the fridge for a few hours0 -
Which chia pet do you use for the seeds? I prefer the Hello Kitty one myself...

lol....you could use the Hello Kitty ones but not sure how the bars will turn out.
I use this brand http://pranana.com/en/products/organic-whole-black-chia-seeds/ but no always the whole ones, ground works too.0 -

I see a lot of ppl make things like these. Is it filling? I just think that for the calories it won't be filling enough?
Do you have a calorie/macro breakdown?0
