Exercise?!

Ive never had an issue with maintaining weight or even losing weight - until my kidney disease came to surface (it layed dormant until I was 18 and pregnant). Now, I find it very hard to maintain my weight and lose it. I don't want to lose weight to be thin, or live up to the expectations of society. I simply want to be healthy as I have this new disease. I eat healthy and snack through out the day. However, because of my kidney problem I can't go to the gym or do any heavy exercise. Does anyone have any suggestions for some at-home exercises that would do the job without pushing my body too far? I know this is a long shot but even apps on the phone would help!!
Thank you in advance!

You could always try walking. Start out with say 20 minutes and work your way up depending on how you're feeling.0

Sure - just go for a walk. Walk at as brisk a pace as you can handle.
The Walk away the Pounds (DVDs) program by Leslie Sansone is pretty easy to do - I did it for a while. I did have to turn the sound off because I got tired of her silly chatter.
You can also maybe find some low impact videos on The FitnessBlender channel on YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/user/FitnessBlender
I do leg lifts, modified pushups, (very much a cheater pushup, lol...I do it on my knees instead of on my toes, but since I feel my upper body muscles tingling and I get tired, I know I'm doing something lol). I walk up and down the stairs a few times - if I have to go to the basement for something, I go up and down the stairs a couple times each time.
It doesn't have to be a crazy intense workout - just do what you can. Push yourself just a little bit further each time.0 -
Your Doctor has restricted your exercise or are you just not sure how much you can do? I only ask because I have some serious health issues as well, and was unsure of what I could and could not do. I spoke with my Doctor and he put me in a pulmonary rehab program. I started with maybe 20 minutes walking, and over the last few months I have felt so much better, I am now up to 45 minutes brisk walking/slow as molasses jogging and am starting a strength training program. I am not saying you should do that, just that you should talk to your Doctor, because no one here is qualified to tell you what to do for exercise ( I know, I used to ask them too). You might me surprised at what you can do though.0

Look up chair exercises and modify anything the instructor is doing to meet your needs.
For example, if theyre doing a high intensity exercise you can either do the same just going slower or do a different exercise still using that body part!0
