Hi
Just saying hello :-D to all, and make a small declaration of foodie independence!
I started dieting along time ago, and have at one time or another joined just about every club and tried every diet. I started off needing to loose 10lbs and now its over 100lbs :noway: . Sooooo dieting does not work for me.
I realise that no one force fed me and I did this by myself and to myself, however there's a clear pattern of loosing weight then putting it back on (and more) twice as fast. I like others eat for many reasons (bored, tired, unhappy, happy etc) and hardly ever because I am simply hungrey! The fact that I hardly ever eat breakfast and in fact rarely eat before 2pm of a day (even tho I am up and at work from 6am) must have some impact so that will have to change.
And I have decided I will never 'diet' again!!!
I am so glad I found this site, with all its lovely free tools and help, its inspired me to do what I will simply call Munch Monitoring - basically I plan to:
*Monitor what I eat by logging in a couple of times a week
*I will eat breakfast
*I will not starve myself
*I will not try anything faddy (special berries/fat melting pills etc)
*I will try to eat more healthily but I will not deny myself my cravings I will simply eat/drink less of it
*I will not obsess about how many calories/carbs/fat are in a grapes!
*I will gradually increase my activity, slowly, and gently, by simply walking
I refuse to be fat and 50 (and its winking at me over the horizon the pest) so I need to make all of the above changes now!! And I will.
Wish me luck Good luck to all my fellow fat busters :flowerforyou:

Hi there, hope it works for you, I know it will if used properly - you need to be logging on every day though
Loved your Munch Monitoring ideas (although I do count the calories in grapes - especially if it's grape juice that's been fermented into lovely wine, lol!)
From your style of language I'm guessing you're in the UK?
Good luck!

Welcome to MFP. I love your attitude. We all have to remind ourselves at times that it took us a while to put the weight on and it's going to take a while to take it off. I actually had to have this talk with myself this morning.
I hope you donn't mind a little bit of advice...focus on one thing at a time. I think for now you should focus on eating breakfast within 1 hr of waking up to get your meatbolism going. Your body probably think that you are starving it. It does not have to be an elaborate meal just a piece of fruit will do and gradually you can start eating more stuff.
Good luck on your journey. Don't get discourage just keep at it and take it one step, one meal at a time.0 -
hello and welcome. You have a great attitude going on here for you. And remember.
YOU EARN YOUR BODY!!!0 -
Thanks for the encouragement and advice, which I will take
This week I've been watching what I eat but really concentrating on the eating breakfast at breakfast time and lunch at lunch time. When your not used to eating during morning its really difficult to get back into the habit. My body just doesn't want it, having to retrain my tum, still only day 4!!0
