Non Underwire Bra?

Another question concerning bras for everyday use..

I have bigger breasts 36D, so i'm looking for a really supportive bra. there's a lot of bras saying that they are supportive but do not have any underwire... Is this better? I want full support to reduce future sagging (i know genetics and age will interfere with this)

I was looking at this one..: http://www.curvissa.co.uk/products/pack-of-2-petite-fleur-support-bras/_/A-227557_42DD#

if that is not a good bra ^ please can someone link me to a really good full support bra that i could buy online.

Thanks

if youre going to sag, youre going to sag - much like stretch marks, its mostly hereditary and not much you can do about it.

    (1) make sure you're wearing the correct size. its AMAZING how many people THINK They are- but AREN'T ( i was one). this is the best and most accurate ive found (even stores were getting it wrong for me! http://brittanyherself.com/2014/02/05/happy-boobs/

    (2) Elomi and theres another brand i cant think of both make some non underwire bras that have really good support for larger sizes.

I agree that the majority of women are not in the right bra but I don't like the biritanyherself link (or the reddit one) - so incredibly inaccurate for me. According to the methods there I should be in a 32 J. I have tried on several different brands in that size at the specialty bra store in San Diego that I usually go to, and they were laughably too big. What fits best is actually a 30G or a 32F/FF (F in full coverage, FF in balconette). The reddit and brittanyherself links are a decent start point but IMO nothing replaces finding a specialty intimates store (NOT Vicky's Secret) and getting properly fitted by someone there.

Can buy thru Amazon - check out Moving Comfort brand. Or similar but a sort of 'no name' version, La Isla.

My girlfriend has a pair of Ds, and she lets them out of the holster whenever possible. There was a French study on this...if you leave them braless, the muscles that hold them up get stronger and they sag less. My girlfriend is 33, had 4 kids, breastfed them all, and has the set of a 20 year old. Let em out whenever possible! :-)

There are no muscles holding up your boobs, your pectorals sit behind the breast tissue against your chest wall.

I learned that after C, cup sizes aren't standardized between manufactures. So one company's D cup might be another company's DD. That sure explains why buying bras was such a hit or miss thing for me for so long. I thought I was a DD. Turns out I usually need to order a G or an FF depending on the company.

Her Room has a universal cup size calculator that can help you figure out what size you would wear in several different companies' bras. I've bought 5 or 6 bras using their sizing reccomendation and they've all worked out great.

On the underwire issue, I've never found a non-underwire bra that was as comfortable and looked as good as a good fitting underwire. I don't think the wire or the lack if a wire will have much if any effect in whether or not you sag later.

I know it seems a little silly, but I swear a well fitted bra will change your life. It feels better. It looks better, I look thinner when I'm wearing a properly supportive bra because when my boobs are lifted it emphasises my waist rather than allowing the bulk of my bust to blend with the bulk of my tummy and looking like one round shape. It's worth the time and effort to find a bra that works well for you.

This thread reminds me I need to measure myself and figure out what my bra size is now. I've lost eough weight that I need to go down a band size and that may change my cup size.

Since you're in the UK, check out figleaves.com and bravissimo.com. (Bravissimo also has dresses and tops for busty women.)

And if you're not too far from a nice department store, go for a fitting. Make sure you're in the right size. A lot of women wear the wrong size which is uncomfortable and also unflattering.

I recommend you check out http://www.reddit.com/r/ABraThatFits

You can get really good advice from women who do bra fittings/custom bras/sell or make bras for a living on brands, fit, size, color, shape, etc.

    It literally changed by life from a painful non-fitting p.o.s. 34 A to a correct 28 C.

I would highly suggest seeking out a professional bra fitter! I used to have large breasts (32F that blew up to something like a 40J when I was pregnant) and started going to a fitter when I was pregnant/nursing. She was able to suggest some awesome non-underwire nursing bras and I kind of became use to the feel of those so I wore non-underwire bras exclusively for a while even when I was done nursing. I've been to 2 different fitters here in the US and both of them have been awesome!

see, it was the first calculator (or person) to ever get it RIGHT for me! LOL i mean, i never even knew the middle part of the bra was supposed to sit flush on your breast bone! I MEAN REALLY? WHY DONT THEY TEACH THIS IN SCHOOL????????? LOL

it also worked great for sizing my teens (and one is a foster and had never even OWNED a bra, much less wore one!)

just goes to show, what works for one, doesnt work for all!

The biritanyherself method doesn't work for me, either. I think it would put me in like a 32I or something like that when what fits me well is a 32F or 32G. But that method is still better than the old add five inches thing. At least the biritanyherself method puts you in the right size band and then you can work from there.
