Today I went over my calorie intake with candy and a couple of drinks after a long day at work, but tomorrow will be better with morning exercise and better choices.

Yes! That is the right attitude. Each day gives us opportunity for success.0

Now comes the part where logic gets applied to the situation. How much over your caloric goal were you? Did you eat at/above maintenance? What was your daily surplus or deficit based on what you ate?
If you ate below maintenance for one day but still at a deficit, you were still at a deficit. If you ate above maintenance for one day, but not enough to counter your weekly deficit, you're still at a deficit and will continue to lose over the course of the week ... just a bit more slowly. If you ate so much in one day that it put your weekly intake at maintenance, you'll remain constant for the week ... not counting any water weight fluctuations. If you ate even more and put yourself into a weekly surplus, you might gain a bit of fat for the week ... a situation that requires looking back over the past month or two for trend analysis coupled with a bit more self discipline.0 -
