Hi :) i was just wondering if there was any carers out there who are constantly on their feet all day at work and struggle to do any exercise after work?.. if you have overcome this type of dilemma i would really appreciate on how you did it as i need to exercise more, but im tired after work.. i already go swimming once a week and do kettlebells or another form of exercise 1 - 2 times a week (days off)
thanks guys :)

Have you tried getting up earlier and getting a quick workout in before starting your workday?

I'm not on my geeky all day however I have found that working out on the morning before I go to work not only gives me the energy to get through the day but it also ensures that I won't have the entire day to talk myself out of working out. Even if you can only squeeE in 16 or 20 mins in the morning to start I know getting up early stinks but honestly once you're up you're up. Good luck

Hi, I am a carer for my partner at home. It might be different to your situation, but I'm finding a fitbit really helps everyday, but especially on days when my carer duties keep me extra busy.

If you get a lunch break you could always go for a walk at lunch. Walking at lunch also helps keep your energy up for the rest of the work day.

Thanks everyone for your feedback... i must try and wake up earlier and do a workout then and go to bed that little earlier haha... good idea about the lunch break workout however i am not allowed out my care home as i have to answer call bells during my break. sometimes we dont get one ... so morning workouts it is :)

Sounds like a solid plan. When you are starting you will most likely have to force yourself to bed a little earlier as you are forming a new habit. Stick with it and I have no doubt you will find great success.

You can also try putting a spring in your step or being a little faster or bouncier at work. It will burn more calories and may lift the spirits of those you care for to see you being enthusiastic. Doing squats whenever you need to pick things up off the floor also works your legs and saves your back.
