Why do I weigh heavier at night? How will I ever know my true weight!?

I weigh about 120 pounds in the morning, and then at night I weigh about 124 pounds?!
Why is this happening how can I be putting on and off 4 pounds during the day and my weight isn't budging!
I want to weigh 110-115 pounds, can anyone advise why this is happening and when is best to weigh yourself to get a true weight?

The 4 pounds is food and water you eat through the day.1

What do you do between the time you get up and night time?
You eat and drink. The stuff you eat and drink that you haven't peed and pooped out weighs something.
Consider your morning weight, after you pee, your "true" weight. Ignore the scale at night because it obviously stresses you out.
You want to weigh 110-115. Is that a good goal for you? How tall are you?
You have very very very little weight to lose (if any). You should only try to lose about 1/2 (.5) pounds a week. Not 2Lbs, Not 1Lb.
Again, this is assuming you really have any weight to lose. Without knowing your height, we can't know that.0 -
Your weight fluctuates 24/7. When you eat something, that's added weight in your body as it digests. Weigh first thing in the morning and stick with that number.0

As others have said, it's just a fluctuation. For a more accurate picture of weight loss, weigh at the same time, under the same circumstances every day. Once a week is better. My "official" weigh-in day is Friday. First thing in the morning, after using the restroom, no clothes. I'll weigh myself at other times throughout the week, but my Friday weigh in is how I determine progress.0

Weight loss is measured by change - or looking at the difference in what you weigh now vs what you weigh in a month. To be useful, the numbers need to be consistent. Morning to night comparisons are not consistent, due to hydration, food, etc. as mentioned. Generally weigh in the morning, after emptying the bladder and before getting dressed.
But for your question - we do not have a single exact weight. Its constantly changing.0 -
my weight loss goal is a 5lb range in order to account for weekly and monthly fluctuations
it is what it is0 -
You can't be serious. I'm not trying to be rude, but come on. You wake up after not eating or drinking for several hours, most likely weigh yourself after using the bathroom, and you're surprised that you weigh more after an entire day of eating and drinking? Where do you think the weight of your food goes? In your body. If I weigh 123 lbs and eat 1 lb of food, I will weigh 124 lbs. It's just math. That 1 lb is not fat...it's food. It doesn't automatically digest and disappear as soon as you swallow it.
Also, as the others said, weight fluctuates for other reasons as well. Water retention, hormones, etc. In your case, it's food.0 -
Choose a time of day and always weigh at that time. Use the same scale in the same spot.
I weigh in every Sunday morning. I wake up, use the bathroom and then weigh myself in my pj's before I eat or drink anything.
Unless you are curious about how much your weight changes throughout the day, don't bother weighing yourself more than once a day.0 -
I will easily weigh 3-5 pounds more at night than when I first wake up and pee in the morning. Just has to do with water/food weight and if you are a morning pooper or not.0
