I'm on the track of losing 16 lbs. for my goal weight of 180 lbs. And I've been having cravings for pizza for a while. I was wondering if I eat a whole large pizza today and limit my calorie intake the next day and work out on the same day, will I be good?

Why not just eat a few slices, log it, and move on?

The thing is, sure you could eat that whole pizza and then punish yourself respectively for it after but what are you learning? I always lean on the side of moderation and making things fit (even if I go over) . But overdoing it for one day and returning to restricting seems to put into place the mindset that, that food is bad and sets up a potentially negative connotation to the food. While, just making it fit once a week or so would teach you about portion control and moderation. And I have my yolo days, don't get me wrong but I also don't try to make up for a bad day, I just move on.

Have a flew slices instead and savour and enjoy them, rather than eating an entire pizza. I know I'd feel like crap if I ate a whole pie.

Yup, you'd feel like crap physically, and then feel like crap because you'll feel like you lost progress. a couple slices would be best.

Have a few slices and freeze the rest for the next time.

I hear you on the full pizza! I had the same craving this week. My solution was bake my own pizza. I used the no knead pizza dough recipe from everywhere online. 500g flour(I used multi grain), 1tsb yeast, 1.5 cups water and pinch salt and pepper, mix and cover for 18 hours. Dough makes 4 pizzas at roughly 460 cal. I used a small amount if pasta sauce instead of pizza sauce less sugars. Then I added 110 calories from a grated cheese 30g for the cheese I ate which wasn't a lot But solved the craving. I also douced in chili flakes for some heat. All in under 600cal. And it was awesome!

Why do you need to eat the whole pizza? What's wrong with moderation?

You got a point....moderation is key.

Ask yourself this. What's more important? Your goal or pizza? Cravings are just part of the game.

You can log 2-3 slices if you want but carry on the next day as usual. You're on a one way trip to an eating disorder if you feel like you need to starve yourself for an entire day to "make up" whatever damage you did.

You need to keep in mind that if you're on this for the long run, one day will not affect you. If you cheated one day, tomorrow is another day and just do your business like any other day.

Hey....I know you from KaraLeigh's video about MTS Whey on Youtube. Small world eh? lol. Well thanks for the advice, I wasn't really thinking of starving myself, just eating food with less calories in them than a pizza. But it doesn't matter anyway, already got my my fair share of calories today.

Haha most definitely. The fitness community isn't so big after all. I love mts, best stuff out there.

It's all good. I only mentioned that because I know and seen how people punish themselves after eating anything labelled "unhealthy". Eat a burger or a pizza and they would A. Starve themselves the next day or B. Do 30min cardio just to make up for the meal.

Definitely not a healthy habit to have.
