I think it just depends on whether or not those activities are part of a persons everyday routine. For instance, if I shovel after a big snowstorm, I'm burning more calories than I do in my day to day life so I will log it. If I am cleaning the house like I normally would, I would not log it. (shrug) it's probably just personal preference, I wouldn't waste your energy being annoyed by it.
