have really struggled on my own to lose about 40 pounds but then went through some fairly high stress things and while I have not gained it all back, I have gained back about 10 pounds. I have little to no support and still dealing with some things that have made this a pretty hard battle. I need to change NOT just the stuff I eat, but the reasons behind it and how I see food both as a bandaid and even as a punishment I guess. I am not sure on all those things, but I do know that food is only the outer shell of what I am struggling with. I think that as a starting place, I need some friends, support and accountability.

I was not raised to ask for help but have decided that was not necessarily a strength but rather a form of false humility. Everyone needs help and I find myself in more need of it now than at any other time in my life.

I am not sure how to go about "asking for friends" that sounds so odd to me, but I guess I am doing precisely that.

    Hi Ann,

I'm new to this myself. I downloaded this app last year but never used it. I will add you *kitten* a friend and see if we can help each other.

I totally understand what you wrote. The psychology of food is complex. If there's trauma associated with food it makes staying fit a challenge.

    Wishing you every success.

    Hi Ann,
I so much know the feeling, for I have gone through it myself.

I started yesterday after my hairdresser told me about MFP. Let's add each other and
begin our journey to a better fit.

    Much SUCCESS.
