Need advice. Lately I've been having problems meeting my 1200 goal. I've been 200 calories under, so I feel like I'm foring myself to eat something to get to 1200.

Would it be a bad idea to meet my calories by drinking a can of soda? I don't want to meet my calories by filling up on bad calories, but I'm wondering if that's better than being under 1200.

Anything is better than only eating 1000 calories a day but instead of a can of soda how about a smoothie or a shake? At least you'll be getting something besides just sugar and caffeine.

You could add a banana- that is 100 calories. I don't think empty calories are a good idea, If you make your diary public you might get better ideas

I was having that problem too. I started eating almonds, or other nuts, as snacks. They are healthy for you and carry enough calories to get you up to 1200.

As I understand it, the 1200 minimum is set so that you get the nutrition you need. Drinking a soda doesn't help in that regard. Try a piece of fruit, a fruit smoothie, some sugar-free pudding, nuts, etc. Eat something that adds some nutrition. Good luck!

How about almonds? They have compact calories that are sooo good for you! Your skin will thank you, and they don't take up much room in your stomach.

Yes, it's a terrible idea to drink soda or any other nutrient-absent crap just to meet your calorie goal. It will send your blood sugar through the roof. There are plenty of healthy choices to help meet your goal. A handful of raw nuts (1/4 cup) is around 200 calories. Chobani greek yogurt 6oz. has 140-160 calories depending on the flavor. Peanut butter, banana, oatmeal, eggs, milk, the list goes on and on.

I would have to agree with the other posters...you should try and make it a nutritionally beneficial addition to meet your daily calorie needs. 1/4 cup of planters pecans has 200 calories in it... 1/2 cup of 4% cottage cheese has 110...some string cheese and triscuits or wheat things...i'm not perfect in my eating...by any stretch of the imagination...but you're welcome to look at my diary if you'd like some ideas... : )

Don't drink a can of soda. Blech.
    a.) banana- 100 cals
    b.) orange- 80 cals
c.) almonds/peanuts (NOT salted)- 160 cals They're high in fat, so watch it. Its good fat, but too much of a good thing, etc. etc.
d.) avocado- one whole is roughly 280, but I like to mash them and add a tablespoon or two to my sandwiches. Gives you an extra 50 cals or so
e.) beans! of any sort! fat free refried, or just boiled kidney, pinto, etc.- 1 cup = 250 calories. So half a cup (the average serving) is between 100 and 125 calories.

Do you have a juicer? Fresh, home made fruit juice is between 100 and 130 calories a cup (depending on the fruit you use) and it's full of all the antioxidents you get from whatever fruits you throw in there. And its good!
