Hi, I'm Ana.
I'm new to MyFitnessPal.
Although I have been on multiple diets, I'm not an expert on Weight Loss.
In order to make my WL more quick, I would like to know if there are any tips, recommendations, advices that you wouldn't mind to share? Also: do any of you sets mini-challenges/goals for the day/week? Is it helpful? What kind of challenges or goals do you set? Thank you x

just stay within your calories and you will be good! mfp isn't about making it 'faster' its about doing it the healthy way so u can maintain it for life. i make mini goals. 5lb goals. seems more attainable than some big far off number. i always aim for just a lb a week. if its more im excited. sometimes its less and i just keep a tighter eye on my portions the next week. good luck

I agree, the quicker you lose the quicker it comes back (and always brings along a few extra pounds). Eat in your range and try to create a consistent workout routine to start. I do fitness challenges to keep motivated, some are 21 days, some 60 and some 90 and I change it up but that's just to stay motivated, not to quicken it up.

Feel free to add me as a friend if you'd like some recommendations or further help! :)

Set your weight loss goal to a calorie level you can manage easily for the first couple of months .5lb a week.

Once you have got used to tracking your calories, and eating less, evaluate if you can drop to 1lb a week, or are more comfortable at the .5lb a week.

Start to include a little exercise. Both cardio and resistance or weight lifting will help you feel better, burn calories, and retain your LBM (weights or resistance for this).

I hung a dress, that I wanted to wear, but no longer fit, at the bottom of the bed to inspire me.

All the tips and tricks in the world won't help as much as your commitment to your goal will.

    Cheers, h.

logging everything you eat and drink is a big thing for me. if the scale doesn't budge its easy to go back and see why. also if you keep a running total for the day you know where you are calorie wise. you just have to figure out what works for you. good luck.

It takes a long time to lose weight (depending on how much you have to lose). It took a long time to get overweight, it will take a long time to lose the weight (it took me a year to lose 85 lbs). Your weight can fluctuate several lbs from day to day, it's water weight, don't freak out. Weigh yourself the same time every day.
