Trying to quit smoking and I'm totally failing.I get so out of breath when I'm working out. Any advice on how to quit smoking?

Hey, fellow smoker here so I feel your pain... literally lol I've quit once for about 3 months, but started back because I was around my aunts who also smoke. My advice would be to try to cut back like I'm doing. I usually smoke about 5 a day, so I'm shooting for about 3. It makes a huge difference believe me. Also take moderate breaks during your work out until you start building up your lung compacity. This is what I do to make it go better. Hope everything goes well!0

yeah, when i was getting started i still smoked. i was never too heavy of a smoker though. i'd go through a pack in a week... maybe more if i went out.
there are a lot of ways to quit smoking. i'd set a date, and tell everyone that you're going to quit at the end of this month. and you just smoke a little less every day. maybe tell yourself you won't smoke between certain hours.
i personally never tried the gum, only the patch. didn't like it, but your mileage may vary. but that was post college, and i went back to smoking a couple of years later.
what finally got me to quit for good was just getting fitter and fitter. i wanted to do more, run faster and further, and i just couldn't do that with cigarettes.0 -
