I am truly sorry...

My previous post was deleted because posting suicidal threats is against forum rules because of the anxiety it causes other members. I would like to apologize to everyone for any problems I may have caused. I was not making suicidal threats, I was sharing my feelings about my health and desire for help. Thank you to those of you who showed concern. Because of my physical condition, there is not much I can do by way of exercise. As I stated in my last post, food and alcohol have become a coping mechanism for me. I joined MFP to try to change that. I apologize to everyone for disclosing too much information regarding my feelings. This is not the place for that sort of support.

It sounds like you need to seek professional help. Getting in a better place mentally means you won't have to rely on food or alcohol. That in turn will help you lose weight enough to get more active.

If you really are having suicidal thoughts (even with no intention to act on them) you need to call: 1 (800) 273-8255

Once again, I apologize. I am seeking help. My weight gain is a product of a crippling military service both mentally and physically. I am trying my best to accomplish both my physical and mental goals. Thank you for your concern. Like I said before, I understand that this is not the place for that sort of support.

No need to apologize -- just glad you're seeking help. Best wishes on your goals!

In case you're not interested in calling the number above, I thought I would offer another that might help. 1-877-838-2838(1-877-vet2vet). It's a crisis hotline that allows you to speak to other veterans. If you need someone to talk to, please feel free to add me.

Is there a veteran outreach center in your area? They can be very helpful. Good luck.
