Its hard to say if we can't see your eating habits and working out habits. Unfortunately, I also lost weight suppper fast before and it was extremely hard to maintain it, but every one is different, so what happened to me may not happen to you.0

If it's coming off that quickly, the big danger is that you are losing a good deal of muscle.0

what do you mean? i'm not making my profile public for the purpose of this post. normal CLEAN diet with a cheat every now and then.. and normal gym with weights and cardio.0 -

Im lifting everyday though....could I still be losing muscle?0 -
Just looked at your profile and saw that you are a new mom. Are you by any chance still breastfeeding? Are you accounting for those calories?
Do you eat any of your exercise calories back?
What's your daily calorie goal? Are your settings geared to losing .5 lbs per week, 1 lb per week or.5 lbs per week? With around 10 lbs to go, you should be at .5 lbs per week or 1lb per week.
You can leave your diary private if you like, but you'd get better answers if you temporarily opened it up.0 -
How do you FEEL? Do you feel tired, deprived, cranky, etc? I'd say that if you're feeling good and healthier than you're fine. I think we have to remember that our bodies WANT to be leaner and healthier and when you hit a stride that works for your body, it will drop the pounds until it needs to plateau and rebalance. Enjoy it!0

Yes, especially if you aren't getting enough protein (1 gram per pound of body weight per day), aren't allowing enough rest between lifts or are restricting calories severely. It's extremely difficult to build muscle on a calorie deficit.0 -

I am still EBF my son. its been going great and my milk supply is actually better then ever. my daily calorie intake is set at 1200 and no, I never eat my exercise calories back. i'm on a very high protein, low carb diet (not as sever as the adkins though). and my thing is set to lose 1.5lbs every week.0 -

thats the thing, I feel AMAZING. never felt better!! more energy and just all around happier.0 -
It's because you are breastfeeding. You will be burning an extra 300 cals a day that way. Some people do find the weight drops off when they BF. I don't! But I know a few people who had to stop feeding as they just couldn't keep the weight on.0

It's extremely unlikely that someone who only had 25 pounds to lose is losing 4 lbs of FAT per week. About half of it is muscle, every single week. The only wildcard here is that having given birth in the last 5-6 months, her hormones may be stabilizing post-pregnancy.
Someone in the obese or higher range could maybe lose 4 pounds of fat per week, but not someone who's in or on the edge of the healthy range.0 -

If you are still breastfeeding plus exercising you need to eat more than 1200 calories a day...... maybe that is why you are losing it so fast...yes we all want to lose the weight as soon as possible but losing it too fast is not good either.....0 -

you are right, and I don't want to be losing too fast but i'm not going to eat junk to boost my calories. I'm eating clean with TONS of protein and my milk supply is better then ever, so who knows.0 -

I'd agree that the calories need to be higher. Your net calories are well below 1200 per day if you are working out and breastfeeding. You're starving yourself.
Your baby may still be getting good nutrition, but only because your body is cannibalizing itself to provide it. You're damaging your long-term health.0 -

Jesus. lol i'll go eat a donut! haha. thanks for the advice.0 -
Maybe just add some yoghurt or milk on top of your current diet? The problem with losing weight fast while breastfeeding is that as your fat cells release their energy you give out all the toxins that have built up over your lifetime, especially trans fats, and those go into your blood stream. Normally they are just excreted, but when you are breastfeeding they go into your milk, and your baby will be getting them. I was always told you should keep intentional weight loss moderate while breastfeeding because of this.
It was never an issue for me, because in 5 1/2 years of breastfeeding (not all the same child!) I didn't lose a lb. It all dropped off once I stopped.0 -

You can contnue to eat clean just add some calorie rich foods like nuts, avocado.....No you dont have to go out and eat a donut lol
I know it can seem frustrating but one of the side effects of having such a low calorie net is that as soon as you finish BF you might gain the weight back...that is what happened to me.... So just eat a lil more and keep exercising....Good luck0 -

You don't need to go and shove random things in your body to eat more than 1200 calories a day. As everyone else has said, you should be aiming for a bit more than that.
Aim maybe for 400 calories four times a day. That would give you 400 calories at three meals, and two 200 calorie snacks, putting you at 1600 calories for the day. It may be hard to eat more right away, so start off slowly, but your body probably really needs it. Not only does your baby need to be healthy, but you need to worry about your own health as well!
As someone else suggested, nuts, avocados, beans. Maybe as a snack cut up an ounce of cheese and a cup of air-popped popcorn.
Also what you eat affects what your toddler will eat when they're ready for solid foods. If you tend to eat spicier foods, or want them to be okay accepting garlic, onions, and bitter vegetables, be sure to include this in your diet. Breast fed toddlers are generally the least pickiest eaters as they've already began to become accustom to it through your milk. ;D Yay for a college course in Child Development and Adolescents. So eat, eat, eat!0 -
I'm friends with you.
You aren't netting 1,200 calories. Your body is on starvation mode. which at first means you might gain a little, but then you lose pretty quick; however, it deteriates your body and your muscles. you need to NET 1,200 calories AT LEAST.0 -

Exactly. Sometimes, you can lose muscle mass with too much cardio and not enough weight training. There wasn't meant to be any negativity associate with how you eat or exercise. If you want feedback, having all the information available to the person is helpful.0 -
I had that happen after my first son. I lost the weight very quickly, almost with no effort. I decided it was because of the breastfeeding. Second time around it was not so easy and I couldn't figure out why. Completely separately from that my Dr sent me in for Thyroid tests as he thought mine was a bit enlarged. Turns out it was fine but I did a bit of research into it since I was worried and found that you can get postnatal hyperthyroidism, and after reading about it I bet that was why I lost so much with my first son.
The good news is - it is totally not a big deal since it almost always goes away. The Dr only becomes concerned if it doesn't go away.
Not that I am saying that is what you have. Only a Dr could say that. But it is another possibility to throw into the mix since you are post-natal.0 -
I lost 30-40 pounds in 3 months with each of my babies (3) while breastfeeding. It just fell off of me. So, maybe it is normal.0

i'd believe that was the case too, except that i've already lost my pregnany weight, within a week on having him I was 5lbs under my PP weight. this is college/life weight i'm trying to get rid of lol0 -

I get what y'all are saying. the thing is though is that i'm eating 6 times a day...I doubt my body is 'starving'........I almost double the protein allowance every day. maybe my metabloism is just really high right now?0 -

Sounds to me that you are doing the right thing with the clean eating, and you're obviously getting enough calories if your milk supply is awesome. I say, keep up the good work and enjoy the post-baby quick weight loss. Pass some of that mojo over to me, Mine ran out years ago (lol kids are 6 and 7 years old, lmao)0 -
