AM Training & eating

OK Guys/Girls... please give me some feed back on AM training
I wake up(4:30) have a coffee, BPI Vector ( 10 mins B4 W/O) hit the gym... usually an 45m to 1 hour and I am at the gym. In other words I don't eat before training. Training is a strength training with cardio warm up 10-15 mins.
Goals are to build muscle and lose body fat... should I continue on the same path....?

training fasted is fine.
You wont' feel as strong- but you get used to it and you work at that level it's fine.
I personally really don't like it. I will do it- but I don't like it. It very much has to do with what you're used to.
A great number of people will say that you're not getting the most out of it- which is true- but for most people- you're essentially resetting at a slightly lower strength level and just working forward- I don't think you're getting NOTHING out of it.
Could you lift more carbed up? sure- but that doesn't mean you're not working- and bigger numbers aren't everything.
If you are okay with it- and you haven't felt poorly about it- keep on keeping on.
I train fasted once or twice a month- and I b!tch and scream and hollar about it- but I get it done because it needs doing. But generally I really dislike it. But if it's working- and you're moving on- then that's all that matters!0 -
Do what works for you. You may have to experiment. If you feel fine working out without eating then I see no harm.
I personally can't. If I work out without having eaten in a long time (several hours) I feel really weak and get light headed.0 -
I try to stuff down half a banana before early AM workouts. I just feel better during the workout. I can't eat a lot because I don't have enough time to digest it. Let's face it I'm basically sleep walking till I'm on the treadmill warming up at 5:30am!
Personally I don't know enough about bulking, but I've seen posts where people seem to have had success with both or combined methods. I'm sure those with experience will comment!0 -
I can't eat before working out. Even in College when we had morning practice and were swimming 3-4,000yds just couldn't do it.0

Fasted or non-fasted training has been shown to be personal preference. I like a few carbs and some caffeine if training in the AM, bananas like someone else suggested or even something like gummy bears or Shot Blocks. As long as you're getting enough calories in overall to sustain your training intensity and frequency, whether that be a big meal the night before or something to eat an hour or so before training, you'll keep progressing.0

I don't need to eat before cardio but for lifting I eat. My schedule is about the same as yours. I have a cup of tea and a Cliff bar or equivalent before lifting. (Get up at 4:30, eat, lift at about 5:00).
If I don't eat before I lift I don't progress. Plain and simple.0 -
I'm quite lazy and don't hit the gym until 630. Fasted cardio has its benefits but I lift and feel without a black coffee, pre-workout and some food, I'm definitely able to get through less work with less weight. I normally eat either oats & whey, muesli or greek yogurt. Cranking out a hard 90 mins in the gym on an empty stomach is not something I would do again. On squats and deadlifts, the difference is very noticeable how quickly my tank empties0

Thankx to all who commented.. Your right I do feel "weaker" w/o eating... but eating gives me heartburn...but life and time dictates 5:00am Gym or 9:00 PM home Gym
