    $4800.00- Normally $0.00 however I pulled cash out of the bank after I got the tax return because we are remodeling our bathroom and I forgot to put the envelope in the safe at home. Needless to say, I am a nervous wreck walking around with that amount of $ on me and I now am reminded to lock it up on my lunch break. Thanks MFP :smile:

    No cash- but I have about $300 worth of damn gift cards that I always forget about. I hate them so much. They mock me. I seriously have one for $25 from Christmas 2004 for Bed Bath & Beyond.

    $1. I never carry much cash. My university has a proprietary debit card for purchases on campus. Plus, I live in a town that if my debit card isn't scanning, the store will gladly take a check (yeah, I still use checks, lol).

    7 USD - I usually only carry cash when I'm going to the casino or laundromat or when I'm traveling.

    The reason I carry cash when traveling, though I often don't use it, is because twice I've been traveling and my bank cut off my card due to unusual activity. One of those times, I even sent them a detailed schedule 2 weeks in advance of where and when I was traveling. It is always after driving half-way across the country and spending along the way. Last time, I spent 3 days buying food, gas, health supplies and equipment (long story, but I had an issue) and it wasn't until the 4th day in Florida (started in Iowa) when they cut off my card. Ugh. So yea... I carry cash when traveling, despite what safety experts suggest. Even if someone was trying to steal my card and get away, s/he would apparently get a long ways before they caught it regardless.
