Help...Craving salty snack

I'm always craving something salty with lunch. Has anyone else conquered this craving or found a weightloss friendly alternative to the baddies (chips, etc...)

Pretzels or a nuts. I like peanuts, cashews and pistachios. Pistachios are nice because it takes time to remove the shell and eat. It slows me down and keeps me from taking a handful of them and shoving them in my mouth.0

Unless you have a medical issue associated with sodium limitations - I'd say eat something salty and be done with it. One serving. I just had a salty trail mix serving. It was super.0

Olives! I had that same craving last night and a serving of olives was the trick!0

A serving of crackers is a nice addition to a lunch.
Dill pickles work too.
Also, I don't know what you're eating for lunch, but if it's something you could add salt to, then do so.0 -

Definitely agree with the dill pickles thing. Sodium goes through the roof with them but super super low calorie.0

If you can't fit in actual chips to your calories, or can't stop yourself from eating to many, cracker chips are a great low cal alternative. (Special K and Pepperidge Farms both have many varieties).0

See if your grocery store sells Pictsweet (brand) edamame in the pods, seasoned with sea salt. Microwave for ~5 minutes and split the bag into 2 servings. (One today, one tomorrow.) 110 calories, good source of protein and its awesome. Note: put the 2nd serving away before you start eating. If I don't, I'll eat the whole thing. I'll eat chips if they're what I really want. Sometimes you just gotta do it. And if you're trying to save calories, you don't have to even eat a whole serving. Just eat a few to get the taste. Sometimes I'll have half a serving of Cheez-its for a bedtime snack if I don't have enough calories. Also olives and dill pickles are just general good salty snack ideas.0

Oh yeah, and string cheese. Low Moisture Part Skim mozzarella is about 60 calories a stick, with about 7 grams of protein.0

Ooh, and there is the option of cheddar cheese & apple slices. They work well together, and I love adding a dash of salt to mine. Sweet & salty all together.0

Roasted Chickpeas
*Preheat oven to 425
*Spray cookie sheet with Pam
*Rinse and drain 1 can chickpeas
*Spread out in a single layer on a cookie sheet.
*Spray chickpeas with Pam
*Sprinkle with 1 Tbsp dry Italian or ranch dressing mix
*Bake for 40-45 minutes, tossing 1/2 way through.

I ate a whole can of chickpeas peas I'd roasted in one day. If you don't think it's possible think again. Love edemame, but again it's the portion controlling. Chips? They are a total sabotage food for me. Can't keep them in the house. P0

Buy or make malt salt seasoning. It's good on any homemade snacks from air popped popcorn,to kale chips, to grilled veggies(sweet potato fries!). It's super flavorful and can satisfy cravings.
Also, miso roasted vegetable chips with sesame or furikake, tamari/soy sauce almonds, or a hard boiled egg topped with salt and pepper usually work for me, but there are lots of ways to enjoy salted snacks in moderation.0 -
salted and roasted broccoli and/or bacon helps me with the salty fixes, without demolishing a bag of chips I also hate that chips get stuck in my teeth, same with popcorn, drives me nuts!0
