Hi, I'm not really new to this site. But I'm just now getting to the point that I use it often. Having this app on my phone has helped out a lot! My problem is I can lose but keeping it off has always been an issue for me:cry: . Does anyone else have problems keeping it off? This has been a major problem for me. I can lose but keeping it off is just difficult for some reason. Does age have anything to do with it? Any tips you can offer is greatly appreciated:smile: .

I have kept off the weight for 1.5 years. The trick for me was to keep logging and weighing myself at least 1 time per month to monitor how I am doing. I am often correcting and changing.

Thanks! My problem could be that I weigh in too much!

You also have to maintain healthy eating habits. This is more than a diet, it is a lifestyle change. That is a mindset many people struggle with. Your body will respond in the same way it did before to "bad" foods, like fast food. Best of luck to you in your journey!

I've been yoyo dieting for two years now. I lose weight pretty easily. I know what to do. I work out, I eat right, and then when I lose the weight, and I feel GREAT about myself, something just clicks off. Like "oh gee. I don't have to try anymore." And I just go right back to my old habits.
So, I know why I have trouble keeping the weight off, but MFP is here to help me out! Once I get to the end, and I feel great, I can click the "maintain" button, and they'll tell me how many calories to eat to maintain at where I am! I'm hoping it works! I also joined a gym! Having to pay for my membership should encourage me to go on a regular basis :)

But first, I'm still roughly 10 pounds and two inches in my waist away from clicking that button!

Thanks so much for your input. And you are so right, going back to old eating habits can be easy to do. I must admit, I've gotten better in choosing healthy snacks. One of my worst mistakes is SNACKING! What has helped me on that is to always have some type of fruit with me wherever I go so that if I feel like I want to snack on something, I won't be tempted to put money in a vending machine trying to BUY high sodium CHIPS!. Thanks for encouraging me to use all the tools on MFP.
