So, I am 1st4lb down and starting to notice a difference in my body (Finally)

I have never been a confident person in myself. I have always hated my body and suffer with Polycystic ovary syndrome so have some of the less pleasant side effects including the weight gain. Sigh.

I have always been overly critical of myself and can honestly say I have never truly loved myself. How pathetically sad that is.

So this morning I decided enough is enough. Ok, I'm a plain Jane. I'm never going to win any beauty contests and I sure as heck won't ever be as slim as Victoria Beckham but I am me. I am beautiful inside and I want to learn to love myself.

I have a kind heart. So today I am loving that about myself. That I do right by others and help where I can. I have a saggy flabby belly but I can tone that. Ha ha.

So welcome to my thread where you can list the things you DO love about yourself. The things you want to LEARN to love about yourself and the good things you've achieved this week be it eating one less chocolate bar.

Let's learn to love ourselves, one piece at a time!

    I love this ☺️

The thing I love about myself is my ability to stay positive even if I get derailed. The last 6 months have been very taxing but I've found it easier than I thought to stay positive about it all.

It's only Wednesday, but over the weekend I have a serious binge and I felt AWFUL on Monday. That binge packed on 2lbs (I know, nothing drastic) but it was discouraging. I've worked my butt of the last couple days and as of this morning I'm back down to where I was!

This is a great thread! Body shaming is terrible. We are all beautiful in some way or another! No one is perfect. This is something I've also struggled with for years. The world is already hard enough on us.... we don't have to hate on ourselves, too. :) Thanks for the encouragement this morning!

I think sometimes we are so hard on the bad bits that we forget the great bits.

I just liked the idea that actually... loving yourself is actually a good thing to aspire too. Great start ladies. Thanks for joining in :D x

What a lovely idea! :) Bumping this up so more people will see it. ;)

As for me, I love my ability to be organized. Tables, charts, lists, I love them! :) And I love the fact that I'm a very forgiving person--I can't really stay mad at anyone for a long time, even if they've done something awful. :)

Great post but you are not a plain Jane - noone is, all it takes to transform ourselves is a good hairstyle and make up tips  ...plus if you are confident in yourself then others automatically think you're wonderful

Well done on the loss, losing weight brings a confidence for sure...own it and enjoy being you

With age brings a more relaxed view of beauty and a sense of confidence I wish I had years ago.

    This is a great idea.
What I love about myself right now is my ability to forgive even when I have been hurt. Its hard to stay positive and forgive those that hurt you, but somehow I keep doing it even when others have said maybe I need to get mad and hurt back. But I refuse. I realize that I will not let anyone change me. So I have a big heart. I will forgive, but that does not mean I will forget.

Though it can get extremely painful, I love the fact I'm emotional enough to sense ''vibes'' from others even if they don't say anything. I can feel their pain or joy almost the same as I do feel mine. It helps me be more compassionate and understanding.

Body shaming in general... can devastate a person by wounding them deeply.

We would never allow another to body shame a friend, now to learn to be that friend to ourselves that won't allow it to continue.

Body shaming ourselves? ...a wound that can take years to heal..what the heck do we think we're doing hurting ourselves this way when instead we can learn to nurture ourselves.

SO very glad you began this thread, I'll continue to follow along and add things of my own.
This will likely become a wonderful healing thread <3

Thanks @aimeerace and BTW? I think you have beautiful features...lovely eyes, strong jaw line, and more... so I don't see any plain janes on this thread...sorry. ;)

Ha @Hearts_2015 I think because I don't "do" makeup and girly things I feel like a plain Jane. I'm comfortable with that though!

I'm so pleased everyone is finding things to love. It shows we are capable of it if we try :D

I love everything about myself.. From the scar in my forehead, my green eyes, my gap that I spent 6k on lumineers fixing only for it to re-open, my flabby baby belly & my crooked little toe!! Hey God gave me this temple and I abused it by over eating. I'm back on track. 85lbs down with 30 to go!

I'm a people person! I love to connect and bond with people. Healthy relationships!!

I hate make up and heels and all of those "girly" things myself! I feel like I'm pretty plain, but not due to lack of make up... It's just the way I look, I guess. :) But we're all pretty in our own way! Please don't be offended if you're an athiest (I don't mean any disrespect at all), but I think God made us all perfect just the way we are. :)

Editing to add... I also love the fact that I'm intelligent; I grab onto new information really fast, and I tend to remember it quite well. :)

I dont do make up or hair spray or anything like that either. It makes my face itchy sometimes plus my husband says he likes it that way.

Yes I absolutely agree with the bolded ... so much more relaxed as I age. I really enjoy the feeling and feel quite sad for those that worry about aging and feel it's something negative.

Today I am loving that I managed to walk over 15,000 steps. I'm really pushing myself to walk more and up my fitness.

Great job!! Today I'm loving the fact that, even though I'm really tired, I'm absolutely determined to stick to my calories this week--I had a really bad week last week, and I'm determined to fix it! :)
