A stationary bike built for two? ;)

    More serious answer:
Personally I would call zone 3 training (of a six zone system) vigourous.

Zone 3 (75-82% of MHR): For development of aerobic capacity and endurance with moderate volume at very controlled intensity.

If you aren't using HR then how about mouth breathing because you can't get enough air nose breathing?

Stationary bikes don't move (obviously!) so what they call speed or distance tends to be completely random and a poor judge of effort. That's why I put the mouth breathing part in my earlier reply.
May be different if you are using a high end indoor trainer but would expect them to be giving you a calorie estimate.

Your approximate 24kph is pretty moderate if an accurate representation.

Most of the online articles I found agree that intensity varies based on a number of factors: age, weight, speed, etc.

If you're trying to decide which one to log for your calorie burn, I always play it safe and go with moderate. The important thing is that your exercising!

Here's a good article on getting the most out of a stationary bike routine:

"Vigourous" doesn't apply until you're already quite fit, assuming you need this to estimate calorie burn.

Sucks, I know, but that's the universe we live in...

On a Stationary, the level of resistance is as important as the "distance". If machine you are using can give you an average power output in watts (or at least give you a estimated MET value average for the ride), that would be much better. One of those two would allow a direct correlation to the ranges MFP uses.

Without that info, I'd say that unless you had it on a high resistance setting, this is a "moderate" pace, or possibly lower.
