Plateau

I changed my eating habits in June after a much needed wake up call from my doctor. I have been doing low fat or no fat when possible as well as portion control. I have lost 46 pounds and am stuck.
I've started exercising 2-3 days a week.
Any advice or suggestions?
Thank You!

Define stuck. How long has it been since you lost weight?

Do you use a food scale?

First, your body needs fat. Heathly fats, like omega 3's are good for you. Please reconsider your diet plan.

Next. How long have you been stuck? Do you weigh all your solid foods or are you eyeballing portions? If not, it may be time to shift to a bit more precision.

Opening your diary so we can see if we notice anything you can tweak can really help too!

    I agree with previous posters.

What exactly does "stuck" mean to you?
Fats are good, fats are necessary for a lot of basic functions.

    Like others, need more info.

A "plateau" is four or more weeks with no change in weight OR measurements. How long have you been stuck, and have your measurements also been stuck?

When weight loss stalls, the first thing to look at is to make sure you are weighing, measuring, and logging correctly. If that is all up to snuff, you just need to wait it out. Stalls happen and you usually don't need to do anything different, but it is a good time to re-evaluate your food choices. Do you need to mix up your macros differently? (sounds like you should look into your fat consumption and, maybe, raise the percentage) Have you had the same calorie goal for a long time? (As you lose, you need fewer calories to maintain the same weight loss rate) Are you getting bored with what you are eating and sneaking too many extras? (Find some fun new recipes to make).
  • I've been stuck now for about a month. After posting I did a lot of thinking, I have been "Cheating" more than I should have, explains it!
I measure and or weigh food.
    Thanks everyone!
