What to eat, and when!

Couple things I've been thinking about:
1. I've been trying to cut back on carbs after lunchtime. Unless I'm about to workout, then I'll have a rice cake or something, because I was suggested to only have carbs in the morning or pre workout. Anyone else eat carbs like this? I'm finding it somewhat difficult, but it makes sense.
2. To eat before or after a workout. For dinner I'll have protein with veggies, but by the time I'm done working out its late at night and I'm about to go to bed. I know you're not supposed to eat right before bed, but that's the only time I have.
Anyone have any thoughts on these topics? Thanks in advance! Always looking to find the healthier option.

Eat what you want, when you want. Crabs all day.0

Eat whenever you want as long as you hit your macronutrient goals for the day.
Me personally? I have a large chunk of my carbs post workout. However this may not be the case for everyone and that's absolutely fine. You can have carbs in the morning or night. Doesn't really matter.
Fitness/bodybuilding or whatever you're doing shouldn't control your life. It should enhance it. If the only time you have to eat is before bed, do it.0 -
Whole grains 46g or more per day and as much fruit as I wanted anytime post workout. Those played a huge part in helping my muscles grow and recover quickly when I was lifting heavily for quick lean muscle gain. Complex carbs and sugars won't make you fat as long as you're eating enough to refuel after a workout (: Even on a rest day I'd eat even more for recovery! I use them to refuel and keep my blood glucose levels up so I'm never really feeling much fatigue no matter how much I work. The brain can only use glucose for energy which is why I suggests eating a variety of carbs throughout the day for added nutritional benefits. Veggies, whole grains, fruits...All of them before bed. It's ok to do. Makes it so you're muscles are well fed during sleep.0

I know you meant Carbs but crabs tickled me so much lolll0 -
I don't have an opinion about the carbs. I don't see why it's relevant to weight loss or health to only eat carbs at certain times of the day. I think, if you are watching your carbs, it wouldn't matter if you ate them throughout the day rather than just those 2 times.
Meal timing also doesn't make a difference for weight loss. You can eat right before you go to bed, there's nothing wrong with that and it won't make you gain weight.0 -
Thank you everyone! I think when I heard these things I started over thinking everything, haha.0

A lot of people over think weight loss. Like they think they need to cut out this and that from their diets, eat at certain times, etc etc when in reality all you need to do is eat less than you burn! It really is simple.0

Eat food. Not too much. Eat it when you are hungry. Enjoy every bite, don't waste calories on mindless eating. The end.0
