Good Morning everyone! 3 MORE WEIGH-INS OMG! I am getting sad lol! No, but really I can't believe we are nearing the end and with such amazing women! I commend you all for sticking it out with me. Let's make these last three weeks really count. I want us chatting it up and giving that support to all of us here. Share your successes stories, what you would have done different, etc. Ok so here is my idea for the new challenge...starting June 20th I want us to track inches every two weeks...and have mini-challenges every week for example (calorie burns, fruit and veggie servings, ounces of water, sodium intake, etc) It would be a new board each week again associated with the mini-challenges. So my idea is that inches is a huge thing in weight loss and our bodies fluctuate so often that I think the weight thing was great, but I feel like we lost people because they becamed discouraged. I want us to chat it up a lot this time, so everyone can gain support and also get some good ideas. How does this sound?
Ok so this week I want us to talk about our "highs" and "lows". If everyone can talk about a high moment this week and then a low one, if you have one of those. It doesn't have to be weight loss related if you can't think of one. Just want to jump start some talking on the thread! Have a great Friday!

Good morning, Sunshines!
This morning I weighed in at 185 which is flat from last week, but overall +1lb. I was up to 187 and I think the two pound loss was a combination of water retention and really cutting back on carbs. I'm learning that my body just holds onto carbs like a fat kid holds onto cake and won't let go!
My goal is to be UNDER 180 by the last weigh-in for this Challenge. I've been derailed the past few weeks for reasons that I can only chalk up to laziness. Last night as I was munching cookies (just 3 small ones) in bed I sort of kicked myself. Right now, I have a gift of time and health yet I haven't taken advantage of it like I should. I still haven't started my C25K program, I've been slacking on Shred and even yoga has fallen to the side. Staying on track has been a struggle for me, but I just need to focus and get it done. End of story.
From a food perspective I need to continue limiting carbs. I've started searching for substitutions for things like bread. Instead of a PB sandwich for lunch, I have an apple with peanut butter and honey. For dinner we usually have rice, potatoes or pasta and I'll only give myself half of my usual serving and pile on the veggies and protein instead. It is a challenge, but one that I need to conquer.
I can't wait to celebrate our amazing journey at the end of this Challenge and I am really looking forward to beginning another adventure with all of you!0 -
Good morning Sunshines! I am away from home for a few days, so I won't have an opportunity to weigh in until Tuesday or so, but graduation was great! My family was there, I cried, they cried. I had to bend down to have my doctoral hood placed on my head because I am so tall and I didn't hate my pictures:)
Krys--I love the idea for the next Sunshine Committee challenges, I'm on board! This is a quick message, have an awesome weekend0 -

I lost 2.6 pounds since last weigh in, OMG!!! I'm shocked! . I thought I might have stayed the same or gained by now. When I changed up my diet to eating back my exercise calories and trying to net 1200 calories. I was sure the weight would go UP!!! I'm still amazed & So SO THANKFUL the weight is still going down.
I have 5.5 to 6 pounds to go before I hit the healthy mark. And No longer be concidered Fat!!!! But looking at myself, I need to lose 7 lbs alone in my stomach and probably another 5 lbs up top  .
I'm buying so many new clothes! IT'S FUN!!!!! I'm dressing up and going out in dresses, which I've never done before.
My Low's........
I really don't think I have any, Well Not with losing the weight or exercising.
CONGRATULATION!!! Leandread... So Proud of you!!!!
Barefootbeauty... Hang in there!! YOu CAN do this!!!

Anyway, down .2 lbs (make sure you read that decimal  )! I'm happy. My low was being in the 180's earlier this week, and not eating so great. My high has been being back on track for about 3 days now.
Current challenge: I woke up at 6:30, and was super hungry, so I ate breakfast really early, and I don't plan on working out today (taking my [deserved] rest), so I'm gonna really have to work smart to stay under calorie today.
OH :indifferent: PS - I'm gonna be away for next week's weigh in. I'm going on a road trip from Thurs to Sun. :happy:Last night as I was munching cookies (just 3 small ones) in bed I sort of kicked myself. Right now, I have a gift of time and health yet I haven't taken advantage of it like I should.
TeresaSavage... I'm glad to see you are loving meeting your goals so much!! :bigsmile:0 -
Hello Again !!
Okay, I was walking on the treadmill just now and was thinking of my LOW'S..
We have a wildfire out west in the Everglades and it's kept me from going outside for WALKS do to the smoke in the air. I miss the outdoors.
Another low is how much repair my house needs
I'm not sure how long I'll be on the new challenge, since I'll be at my goal soon. I'll need to find one for maintaining my weight.
I'm not sure how many inches I need to get to either, I guess as long as every two weeks it goes down
Have A Great Weekend!!!!0 -

This week work gave me much dreaded pressure. I ate like crazy and didnt workout. On the positive note last saturday I ran my official second 5K race for breast cancer cure. I was happy about it and I did it in 43.57mintues.
I was feeling low that all week I ate low including last night where went to buffet and ate crazy. I felt sick during eating and even after. But I ate it
Well, today morning I ran 5K @5mph which was a huge accomplishment for me and was one of my goals for this month.0 -

Aftnoon ladies,
oh, how I missed you all so very much! I am so sorry for neglecting the group..not my intentions, really.
I have been extreamly busy with mother's duties (home life, family, and children's education) and I have neglected this thread ( and many others) and it so hard to get back to losing weight and doing everything else. I am trying to balance everything out, I am a Libra, but it's getting very hard. I hate the way I feel, my clothing still feel the same so I haven't gain (or I hope I haven't).
I have been trying to get back to exercising so I would take walks in the park with my music and in the evening we (my family) go back to the park and take a 1.5 mile nature walk per lap...I go twice, the first time with my kids and hubby the second time I go with one of my older kids or sometimes both..hubby doesn't like to go twice so he usually watches our younger son while he plays on the swings and stuff. My second lap I usually do my running/walking thing. I am really starting to LOVE running/jogging thing..my kids and I do an interval thing (walk 3 minutes jog 1.5 minutes).
I am just trying to focus on one thing at a time so I don't overwhelm myself with too many things and give up, again. So I will be doing some form of exercise every single day. then take it to the next level and start eating 1200 calories, currently I am eating 1600 and I am losing weight. I think it becasue I am exercising again. I am hoping I keep this up!!! I really want to feel great in the dress I plan on buying for my brother's hinna and wedding. SO I have 5 months to get 40+ pounds off of me...
love ya all and hope to stay connected

I'm up to 156 this week (I think I was 154.2 last week). I am stuck in the 150's no matter what I do right now. I am going to finish out May eating near-maintenance calories, then try to hit it again in June by dropping back to 1200-1400 net. I really want to be below 145 for my cruise in July, but I'm afraid my body has decided it's done losing for a while. I will check in with the challenge, but I'm not really expecting anything to change much between now and June 1st.
Congrats to those who are still losing well, and hang in there everyone else! I probably won't join the next challenge because my summer is going to be crazy busy with lots of traveling, but good luck to everyone!0 -
Ah, highs and lows - I'm going to take it literally! My weight is bouncing all over the place, three pounds up and down. My (overall shrunk) breasts are clearly inflated with water retention for some reason. I'm down about a pound and a half on last week, so that's good.
I'm not precisely frustrated about this confusing behaviour. Obviously when you go from "moderately to severely obese" (my peak BMI was about 38) to "just about 15 pounds overweight", at a weight you haven't been at since your teens or so, I expected something to change in how my body acts. But I didn't know what to expect.
It would of course be *nice* to continue this reliable, easy reduction of weight for a good while yet, but what I really want is to take these changes as a signal to focus less on the weight and more on body composition. Measuring with a tape is a lot harder than stepping on a digital scale. I see reliable changes only after 3-4 weeks or so. But what's clear is that my hips have shrunk a lot, and my waist still needs some shrinking. Measurement today: waist 34.5", hips 39", chest 39", under chest (ribcage): 33". The body fat measurement on the scale (which could be off by a lot) is currently between 32 and 33%. I'd like to get this below 30% and closer to 25%, and the waist measurement to go below 32".
How much I *weigh* at that stage would be less important. Frankly, even right now I feel a lot more light-footed. The other day I jumped down the step from our garden shed to the ground. I braced myself for the impact on my feet the way I did at > 200 pounds. But it wasn't necessary at all. (Of course, dropping more pounds would help my cycling, especially uphill l ).0 -
Happy Friday Sunshines!!:flowerforyou: 3 more weigh ins! Wow!! You all rock!! I am going to see if I can squeeze in 6 more pounds. It is not as much as I wanted to lose but I am happy to still be forging forward for sure. I am also proud of being down 20 pounds so far even with the yo-yoing.
I have enjoyed the challenge for sure!
Thanks again Krys for orgainizing it!!
Have a wonderful weekend all!0 -
Thank you Krystle for keeping us on the right track. Im in and whatever I can do to help just let me know. Be glad to come up with the weekly challenges or anything that will help
Highs ~ Sunday at church there were four people saved and 3 baptised!!!! That was definately my high!! That is why I do all I do in the name of Jesus, so that others might know his love and be drawn to him!!
Lows ~ family situation that is really trying on me right now. Sometimes family issues are so trying it weighs on me mentally so that I cant focus on getting done the things that need to get done. I keep telling myself this too shall pass!!
Hope you all have a great Friday!!0 -

Hello!
Hope everyones having a wonderful Saturday.
My new workout routines is to slow it down. I'm going from burning 550 to 600 calories a day to 245 calories burned.
That includes 1 hour walking a day. Thats it! and then with my weight lifting 30 minutes every other day thats 345 calories burned.
Treadmill 1 hour = 3 miles and 245 calories burned
weight lifting 30 minutes = 100 calories burned
Luv Ya! Hope everyones doing good.0 -

Hi Sunshines!
What a week. I was sure I would be staying at 201 again, but alas I finally broke into One-derland!
Highs and lows this week...
Highs other than the weight one involved shopping. I finally broke down and bought some new clothes since nothing is fitting these days. I decided to go into a shop that I have never dared to go in because they don't carry "big girl" clothes. I nervously took a pair of size 16 capri's to the changing room.... and they were too big! So I ran back to the rack to get a size 14!! I tried them on and they didn't look right, not fitting right so I went and asked the sales lady how are these things supposed to fit ( I hate talking to sales people, I feel they are always judging me (internal dialolgue that needs to stop!!!)... she said they were too big! Pardon me?! So I bought a pair of size 12 capri's this week. That is a pretty big high!
My lows include realizing that I am not eating to my potential. I need to include more fruit into my diet. And water needs to increase. A challenge I will take on this week.
As for challenges I like the new one. I know that I can not live and die by what the scale says. It is only me (and you ladies) that actually know that sneaky number! My goal is to be fit and to have a body that moves. I realized last week that I need to develop my muscles. I had started P90X Lean on April 2nd. Last Monday, the 9th, I decided to challenge myself to the Classic version. Yes, I am in pain, but feel good and like my muscles are responding. So doing the inches challenge is right up my alley.
Here's to another week of us kicking it up for the last 3 weeks of this challenge.0 -
I was shocked to see it today as I feel I am retaining water right now. My muscles are all crampy with pain and I am having a difficult time getting my water in. I am very happy with what I have achieved, but at the same time it feel so anti-climactic!Highs other than the weight one involved shopping. I finally broke down and bought some new clothes since nothing is fitting these days. I decided to go into a shop that I have never dared to go in because they don't carry "big girl" clothes. Ok, so to answer my own questions..
High-I am happy with my consistency with my water, and meals. I am not skipping meals or slacking on water. Also, I am exciting because my fitness page is getting more "likes" on Facebook and I'm seeing some great feedback. I am slowly but surely building the business aspect of my journey.
Lows-My TOM on Thursday left me out of commission until today. I have never had really bad TOMs until I started taking Depo and now coming off of it. I need to start my BCP ASAp so there can be a little let up because I felt like I was going to die for these past 3 days. Woooo man! So of course that meant no working out those days.
This week I will be completing some different schedules for myself. The first one is going to be a workout schedule for the week, which I am going to stick to! No matter what! Also, I am going to schedule in some time in my day to start compiling chapters I want to discuss in my book. Lastly, a daily schedule that allows me to workout, spend time with my son, prepare meals, and not end up in bed at midnight. I'm a Capricorn and I naturally need organization, and I feel like I have been running around aimlessly lol. So no more! Time to get it in gear.
Well I hope you all have a great Sunday!0 -
I would def. do any challenge you create ... you are so motivational and I love reading your posts everyday!
My high and lows really depend on whats going on in my life. I am finally SETTLED. I am loving life right about now. I hve been doing well eating and am going to start back up exercising this week .... Treadmill intervals in the morning and if I have time in the afternoon I will do 30DS or some zumba. I think it is important to remember that this is a lifestyle change that sometimes things are going to happen where you have no choice but to eat out or not have enough time to workout. Focus on day to day, if you mess up one day don't let it turn into a week. Slow and steady wins this race. I can't believe how fast the time has flown with the challenge. I am no where nears where I wanted to be number wise but I feel/see my body has shrunk.0 -
Ok, so I weighed in yesterday and I am down 1.8lbs from last week. I am excited about it because I am finally go back in the right direction. So I am hoping that this continues. I just realized that I can't do the net 1200 calories thing. If I eat 1200-1400 calories and workout, that is just that...So for now I am going to stick to my same eating habits that helped me lose the weight in the first place. And I honestly think that it is because I am still over 200lbs, and I can stand to eat a little less lol. So once I hit ONEderland I will reevaluate and see if the netting 1200 calories things makes more sense.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Monday!0 -
Good morning Sunshines! Sorry I have not been as active on the board lately. I'm trying to find the right balance. I tend to get involved in something and solely focus on that. So finding a balance has been hard. I maintained this week, which is good given I have just been having a free for all. I'm starting back today an focusing on cleaning my diet up once again. I felt so good when I was eating better. I don't know why we tend to fall back into the same eating patterns when they make us feel so bad. I also need to get back into the habit of exercise.
My highs this week: 1) Saturday when I put on a pair of jeans I got from a fellow challenger in a size 14 and they felt wonderful! They actually looked really nice too. 2) Going out with a friend I haven't seen in awhile and for once being the "skinny" girl. (Is that bad to feel good about this? 3) Feeling like we are going to make some progress on my son's condition.
My lows this week: 1) Falling off the wagon and eating whatever I wanted
Well, I guess that is good I can only think of one low for the week.
I can't believe we only have 3 more weigh ins! I better get busy! I don't want to leave this challenge with only a 10 lb loss. Gotta get crackin'!!
As for the next challenge, it sounds good, but honestly I don't know how I will do. I'll be willing to participate and give feedback and encouragment.0 -
Hello Ladies!!! Happy Monday!!! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!!! I am proud to say I finally got my butt up and worked out today for the first time in a looooong time!!! I havent been very good at all this month!!! I have been stuck at 155.5 since the end of April!!! I am soooo happy i invested in an ipod though!!! I went running today for the first time with it and the time just flew by!!! I ran/jogged for a whole hour and burned 430 cals!!! I havent had a burn that big in a while!!! It made me feel great so hopefully the music and the few minutes out of the apartment to have some "me time" will be enough motivation to keep me going :happy:0
-
Ok so I guess my highs this week were my size 20's don't even stay up anymore. Also my husband noticed my weight loss and told me should have joined me way sooner. My lows this week were I didn't try hard enough over the weekend and didn't exercise like I should have. I need to hit these next couple of weeks hard.0

Me too girl! I finally got my butt up and ran on the treadmill for 30 min. I started the C25K over and it was harder in some ways and easier in some ways than the first time I attempted. I did notice I was jogging at a faster pace than I did previously and I wasn't about to die! The hard part was that I felt like it was taking forever. I was kind of thinking "If I was running longer, I could just get this over with". But in the end I was proud I did it and I am going to try to see it through this time.
There is a 5K this evening I am going to participate in. My first one! I'm a little nervous since I had a hard workout last night and also I am doing a version of low carb right now and I know you are supposed to "carb up" before a race. Wish me luck!0
