There was this:

And, even though I wasn't able to get video of my second PR today, I was able to press a 24 kg (53 lb) kettle bell for the first time ever!! (I am totally more pumped about this than the DL, although I am pretty happy about it as well.)

Awesome! Although during that video I admit I was more distracted fearing for your bare toes. The combination of bare feet and heavy, metal weights is a bit scary to me. But congrats on both!

Nice deadlift. Interesting barefoot setup for sumo, how do you like it? Do you ever slip or feel like you're gonna slip? I don't think I've ever seen that before.

I always lift in bare feet! I actually put shoes on the other day for the first time because I was doing deficit deadlifts, and didn't like how the plate felt under my foot. Wearing shoes was just plain weird feeling to me. (It was a pair of Van's) Realistically, shoes aren't really going to protect your foot that much if you drop a weight on it, and I just feel better grounded to the floor without them. As of yet, I've never slipped or felt like I was going to do so.
