Hi all,

So starting this whole new me (cliche) thing today - my doctor told me I am overweight and need to lose it, and so did my mother...and a few others, so finally the penny has dropped and I would like to get my fatty backside into gear and lose the weight to almost prove that I have the ability to do it.

So - has anyone got any tips for a completely new person to this? anything that may have tripped them up that I should keep an eye out for?

I am really self motivated for this to work...and support is really useful in times when your scared of starting something new, so anyone that has any advice...it is more than welcome!!

Thanks all!

Set the thing up for 0.5 lbs/week loss to start with and see how it pans out after 3-4 weeks.

Slow and steady...! Don't go in all guns blazing wanting to lose half a stone over night!

Don't eat 1200 calories - you will be hungry and therefore more likely to have a binge and ruin any hard work.

    Set realistic goals.

    Move more!

You can do this, the community here is great if you are willing to put in the effort :)
