Hey guys! My name is Jennifer. Overall, I'm in pretty good health but I could do much better. I have a consistent workout routine that I'm happy with but my diet sucks! I can't seem to stick to something that works for me. It's a struggle. Any easy and quick diet recipes anyone would like to recommend or tips on how to stick to a good diet ?

Dieting is "hard" because you're "dieting". Don't diet. Adopt an eating lifestyle that sensible and can be SUSTAINED by you for life. If you can't do it for life, then chances are you'll fail.

Hey my names Jennifer too! sorry guess it didn't post the rest of my comment. I get how hard it is to change your eating habits, I myself just recently started dieting and exercising, and am not starting to track what I eat. One thing that helps is rewarding myself with a small treat. Try incorporating veggies and fruits into your diet, cut out white carbs as much as possible and eat better grains such as whole wheat and grain like brown rice, give yourself a cheat day if you need to. Modify the unhealthy stuff you eat, if I do eat something unhealthy I try to make it something small, like when going out chose a small size instead of a large. Over time you'll get the hang of it, but stay consistent! Good luck!0

Ninerbuff is right. Nothing sets a person up to fail like a program they have no interest in, no matter how badly they want it. Don't diet anymore. Don't start by making up your mind to give up this or that. Calorie counting lets you call the shots. You decide what fits and what doesn't as you go. Start with your usual habits and snip and trim as you go along. I never thought that I'd be giving up my flavored lattes and 12 pack of soda a week, but those calories weren't giving me any gut satisfaction and I wound up hungry at the end of the day, so they had to go. I haven't looked back. Prioritize your calories in whatever way works for you.0

Paulawalladingdong said it perfectly. I have tried many diet programs. Took weight off and put it back on when I ate normally. This time I am logging calories and eliminate what I feel is not calorie worthy. I stopped fast foods as they have too much fat calories. My daily latte is now my treat when I have lost weight for two weeks. Log your food so you see where your calories come from. Don't skip meals. Eat your foods out of natures package not from the bag or box. Plan ahead. Look on line at the menu before you go to the resturant. Most chains have calories on line. Make it your lifestyle not your diet.0

All of the advice above is terrific...but dieting (or diet adjustments) are hard....most of us have eaten too much sugar or processed food in the past and letting that go is hard. I am two weeks into a real life style diet adjustment...and some days I am just hungry. Look at what your triggers are...mine are baked goods and fast food...and try eliminating those. It is sometimes easier to stop eating something rather trying to monitor it. It also allows me focus more on what I can eat. So far it is working0
