Maybe It Is the Scale

So today I came to the conclusion that I need to replace my digital scale.

It has been annoying me for some time - if I get on it several times in the span of a few moments - all with the scale in the same place on the floor (tile, not carpet) it will give me as many different readings as the number of times I got on it.

Some of these readings vary by almost 2 lbs. Not .2 lbs...but 2 whole pounds. Could it be some of those weeks where I have only lost 1 lb...that it decided to tell me a different story...or those weeks where I thought I lost 3 lbs...that I only really lost 1? This could explain why even though I have "lost" almost 15 lbs, some of my pants feel as tight as they did before I lost weight....maybe I only actually lost 9 lbs. No idea. I now don't even know if my starting weight was really what it was. LOL

I looked up my current scale on Amazon - have had it for almost 10 years so I'm surprised that it's even on there...lol....but it has many reviews that mirror my experience. So...I ordered a new scale today from Amazon.

Maybe if your scale is frustrating you - it's time for a new scale. :open_mouth:

If you get on, step off and get right back on and it's 2 pounds different....yes, definitely time for a new scale.

Try putting in new batteries. Mine acts wonky if the batteries are dying. If that doesn't work, then look for a new scale.

It's also very very picky about where I stand on the scale. If I am an nth of an inch to one side or the other, it freaks out as well and gives me crazy different read outs.

I had been getting on about 5 times and going for the best 4 out of 5 read outs, lol...if I got one read out more than 1 or 2 times, that was the one I went with. Or if I had several that were within .2 lbs of each other, I just took the "middle" one. Today, I did not get the same number twice...out of I don't know how many times....

I probably should have changed the batteries, but I've had a hate/hate relationship with this scale for a while, LOL

I recently had to do the same thing. Change batteries and that didn't help so I ended up buying a new one. So much better!

Try this first, before buying a new scale. Mine also goes a bit wonky for a while before it comes up with a 'LO' message.

I heard that the number on the scale can change depending on where you stand. If your scale doesn't have those footprints on it try putting some little tape marks to make sure you're standing in the same spot every time
