Hey. I'm new here (duh, right? Why else would I be posting an introduction?)

Anyway. This is not my first time on the weight loss journey. From January 2011-May 2013, I lost 65 pounds using the WW Points Plus program. I found the support of the meetings very helpful and I also liked the points system.

However...as happens so often...I have since gained back 25 of those 65 pounds due to a couple things. I stopped going to WW because it became prohibitively expensive for me (it costs $25 a week up here, and I'm a full-time student now, so $100 a month could go towards better things.)

So here I am, trying to lose these 25 pounds, and I'm having one hell of a hard time trying to lose it. I joined TOPS last month because I have learned that I really do need the accountability of knowing that someone else is going to see the number on the scale, but I'm still having trouble. That, I think, is mainly because I have never actually counted calories before and I'm finding it difficult -- which is something I never thought I'd say.

I'm only 5', and I'm currently sitting at 165 pounds. I know that at my height I should be anywhere between 110-130 pounds, but frankly I would be satisfied if I could just get to 140 pounds first (actually, that was the goal weight my doctor recommended for me.)

I'm just finding it ridiculously difficult.

I'm hoping to find some friends, as well as some motivation, here. I know there are a lot of knowledgeable people here and I'm hoping to learn as much as I can.

Good luck, MFP works just as well and better than WW if you stick to it!

This is a good tool to make life style changes, not be on a diet. I have dropped my weight here and am using it to maintain. It takes work on your part but if you want it bad enough then the work is worth it.My doctor told me to lose 15-20 lbs and I lost 30 by the time I went back to see him. Since then I have dropped total of 60 lbs. Now MFP is helping me keep it off. SO welcome and send me a friend request if you wish. :)
