Weight loss stalling due to shock/stress?

So as some of you may know, I'm obviously struggling to lose weight lately and I've never had a problem with that before. I'm starting to wonder if the difficulty just comes with age? I'm not that old though (24)
Or if it's due to the high stress levels I went through with almost losing and caring for my father after his severe stroke back in September 2014, at the time I weighed 150lbs and lost so much weight from all the anxiety that I became 137-140lbs. After time and recovery for my dad.. I started to regain appetite and felt more calm and over time gained all my weight back plus more in a spam of 2 months. Now I weight 154-157lbs.

Could it be harder for me to lose weight now because of all the shock my body went through these last 6 months?

I'm now logging my food and will start weighing it too. Exercising more and drinking more water too to see a budge on the scale hopefully soon.

I've had several depressing episodes in my life resulting in the weight falling off me, however on times of contentment the weight piles on. Now during a calm period Im making a life change of healthy eating and regular exercise. I have a long way to go as body change won't happen overnight, hang in on there and you won't be disappointed
