is there a way to figure out how fast you're walking? Or are we just supposed to guess at how fast we think we're walking?

I walked 3.2 miles in 70 minutes.
How fast is that? I want to record it right, and yes I know I should buy a HRM lol

You are doing approximately 3 mph.

Also if you have a smartphone you can download apps like RunKeeper or CardioTrainer.

    70 minutes/ 3.2 miles= 21.8 minutes per mile
    60 minutes/21.8 minutes per mile = 2.75 mph

You can go to mapmywalk.com and find out how far you walked and divide by the amt of time it took you to get your answer.

Divide the distance by the number of minutes walked and then multiply the result by 60.
    So for you that's 3.2/70*60= 2.74 mph

If you go to caloriesperhour.com they have walking calculators. On the one you put in your weight, how far you walked, and how long it took you and it will figure out the calories burned and also tell you the speed of your walk.

Buy a pedometer at a Sports store (better quality) and track your steps and calories burned that way. I have one that counts steps, calories and miles.

Or if you have access to a treadmill, get on one and walk as fast as you do when your outside to give yourself an idea =)

yep like above --do a bit of math and come up with your mph.-- you were going 2.7 mph average
  • Guestamate! I figure you walked about 3 mph. Unless you get a HRM or some other device that's the best you can do.
