Try L-Glutamine to reduce your sugar cravings.0

I read a bit about the problem, beeing a "chocoholic" myself and beeing able to eat 18 oz (I kid you not) of chocolate in one single day...
Well, some mean you have to quit eating at all, and that eating once a week is worse than quitting cold turkey. So I quitted almost three weeks ago and picked up running in the evenings, when I usually ate most of the chocolate.
Honestly, I do not crave chocolate anymore and haven't for a whole week. It's truly a wonderful feeling.0 -
I love sugar too! It's the sugar count in food that is my concern. My doctor told me that 50 - 75 grams of sugar is the most anyone should have each day if you want to lose weight and get rid of belly fat. That's about 10 tablespoons.
That's not much by my standards, but I try to stay below 50 on a good day and within that range on a splurge day. The more sugar you eat, the hungrier you are. At least that's been my experience.0 -
You learn somewhere along the way that to reach your next goal you just dont eat it... That being said i dont think you have to cut chocolate or sweets out completely, have a little bit, moderation is the key in any diet i think in order for you to stick with it. Its better for you to eat a little bit now then to get frustrated and eat a full container of ice cream. Make it fit into your calorie limit for the day... My calories have dropped so much that i have to watch every little piece of food going into my mouth... Also there are great snacks out there that a sweet and taste just as good... I have a snack some night of a chocolate gram cracker, with a teaspoon of peanut butter and a teaspoon of lite whipped cream, with the other half of the gram cracker on top to make a sandwich...its 112 calories, and it is awesome... i sometimes have two... and that makes me feel stuffed where i dont want any more... Good luck in your journey...0

I keep my sugar under 20g/day. And I sneak in 2 hershey's kisses a day (one after lunch, one after dinner). Works really well for me. :bigsmile:0

I too am a sugar junkie!!! I cannot even start because I can't stop. Shakeology has helped me but it is pricey. My other secret is sugar free chocolate pudding and cool whip free! Tastes sweet but hardly any sugar at all0

I know the feeling.... my sweet tooth was my biggest downfall! I would eat fairly healthy and then binge on chocolate (I'm talking a 5lb bag of kitkats in an evening here!). My solution was to cut out sweets cold turkey. Yes, its hard. Yes, the cravings will drive you crazy. But after about two weeks you'll be amazed how easy it is to pass on the junk food. Studies have shown the brain reacts to sweets similarly to the way it does with drugs. You can literally be addicted to chocolate! So detox and kick your habit, I say!
A friend of mine countered her cravings with diet sodas... I think they're terrible for you, personally, but it may help you get through your choco-cravings.
Beat the junk! Good luck!0
