Haven't lost any weight this week

I've been running a lot this week. I've always done running but over the winter I slacked a bit. I gained weight over winter and now it's spring I'm trying to loose it. I weighed myself last week and I was 12 stone 5. This week I've been running a lot, yesterday I even did 7.6k. I've been watching what I eat. I don't do low calorie diets, my goal is to eat healthy foods and eat between 1700 - 2000 cals. I'm on my feet a lot at work too. I count my calories carefully. I should be loosing weight. Usually I loose weight quickly but this week I've barely lost! I've only gone down to 12 stone 4.8! That's like 2 ounces! I feel so gutted cos I've worked so hard. It can't be muscle because I'm overweight and should be loosing fat. I'm 5"7 by the way. I'm sick of being chubby and curvy. I want to look like a Victoria secret model. I hate my body and I feel like a failure for not losing weight. Usually I loose weight quickly. I hate my body and my chunky short legs which are small and stubby for my height and my face always looks puffy. I don't even want to go out tonight because most girls that go clubbing are slim and size 8. For me size 14 is chubby and unacceptable. I hate curves and given the choice most women would rather be size 8 than 14. I don't believe in loving your body and all this curves are best rubbish. Size 14 and above is chunky not curvy and not a good look.

+1
Plus you need patience. You did not put the weight on overnight.0 -
If you want to get technical about it, .2 pounds is actually 3.2 ounces.
But weight loss isn't perfectly linear. There's some weeks I lose just a little, some weeks I lose a lot, some weeks I don't lose and all, and some weeks I gain. It's the way it goes. For everyone.
About the body hate... I don't know what to say other than I'm sorry you feel that way. And I can guarantee you that no one else is as critical of your body as you are.0 -
But usually I loose weight quite quickly. I should have lost at least a pound!0

And it's been a week so I shouldn't be plateauing. Usually people loose weight in the first two weeks.0

Do you use a food scale and how do you calculate your calorie burns?0

If you've slacked off from running and just amped it up this week, your muscles are probably inflammed (which means water retention) and your body just realized, "Holy crap... she's running again. We gotta start storing some more fuel so she can keep this up," which also causes a little increase on the scale. And that increase can hide weight loss. Sometimes it even shows up as a gain.
Relax. It's normal. Keep doing what you're doing.0 -
You really don't get this ... do you?0

I think you look beautiful and not chunky at all. If your goal is to lose 20 pounds and that is a healthy weigh for you, then don't expect it to come off overnight or in a week. It's going to take longer than that. Starting exercise again after a period of time off, can cause some water retention. Just be patient, eat right, exercise right, and you will see the results, but it won't be in a week or overnight. Its going to take months. Women's clothing size is a notoriously inaccurate gauge of whether a person's being overweight or not, sizes are not even consistent within the same label, and definitely not consistent with other labels.0

You are probably overestimating what you eat. Do you log your food on MFP? I can't see your diary.
Also, size 14 is very acceptable. When I was in my 20's I was a size 14/16 and I thought I was fat. Looking back at photos from that time, I wasn't fat, I was a total fox. Young women have a lot of pressures from society to look at certain way and let me tell you, a Victoria's Secret model is not a realistic goal.
Do you drink a lot of water? 2 litres (64oz) per day is what I am for. That will help reduce puffiness in the face. Also, how much sleep do you get? That matters too, aim for 8 hours per night.
In short: weigh your food solids with a digital food scale, log your calories, exercise often and don't eat crappy junk food.
Oh and MFP will give you advice on how many calories to eat. You need to have more calories burned than you eat to lose weight.
Good luck!0 -
This is my weight loss over the past few months. The black dots are my actual weights. If I were only looking at my numbers rather than the downward trend, I would make myself nuts. Don't make yourself nuts.0 -
It's been a WEEK!!!!!!0

Weight loss based on CICO works. However other variables help keep weight up. Things like stress, anxiety, lack of sleep, etc. can play havoc with your hormones and a side effect is water retention.
Weight loss isn't linear so one can do "everything" right and still not lose weight in a week. But consistency will prevail.

well I don't know how old your pics are but obviously a lot of folks don't consider you to be fat nor do I... but I've been there I'm still kinda there... everyone around you says don't lose anymore weight you are perfect the way you are... um no... skinny girls look good in clothes, fit girls look good naked! Fitness is our goal, and yes I want to look like a Victoria secret model too lol.... a weight loss of any is better than a gain keep that in mind. also depending on what time of month it is for you ya might lose more or less. just be patient and keep up what you are doing but maybe tweak your diet a little if you aren't eating completely clean trade out some processed foods for healthier more natural options. good luck to you0

Thanks for the info! I checked it out, and if you don't have a Wi-Fi scale, you can still enter your weight manually. Very cool!0 -
1. Size 14 and curves can be a great look. I have natural curves, and even if I lost an insane amount of weight, I would still have curves. If you honestly think that that means I would be/ am unhappy with my body, then you're wrong. I love my body, bumps and all, and so does my husband. I'm losing weight to be healthy and so not every woman is deeply unhappy with their looks. Please do not assume that your issues are everyone's.
2. Most women cannot look like a model. Models spend hours working out, eat very restrictive diets, and have people to ensure they look a certain way. They also are genetically lucky, and have a specific body type. It is simply not realistic for 99% of the female population to expect to look like them.
3. It sounds like you need to shift your thinking from trying to be this "perfect" model, to simply being a strong, healthy you. If you can't see yourself that way, then I really do recommended therapy.
4. It's been a week. Weight loss is not linear, nor does it always make sense. Weigh your food, read up on it, and know that your running, and eating healthy is helping make you healthy, and strong, even when the scale doesn't show it.
