im planning an Alaskan cruise in August. Would you live it up and enjoy the week eating what ever you want or still watch and be careful?

In my mind, it's called vacation for a reason. But, you have to be mentally prepared that the scale might show a bigger number than you anticipate, so you'll have to work a bit harder the next couple of weeks. Not a big deal in my mind, but it might be extremely detrimental to others.
I just got home from vacation last week, and gained almost six pounds, but I absolutely enjoyed every minute of it. lol0 -
I would enjoy myself..thats what life is about, thats what trying to lose weight is about (to me anyway) being able to feel good and do things that I enjoy.
That being said though! While I would not restrict / deny myself from eating what I want, I would not attempt to fit as much of it as possible into my mouth "cause Im on vacation!!" LoL Moderation. Also, I would try my best to continue drinking my water requirement, to combat the inevitable sodium increase.0 -
Just got back from Hawaii. Enjoyed a Mai tai occasionally and some local homemade mango ice cream (only ate half). Husband and I would split entrees (saves on $ and calories). Just don't go too overboard and you will also be very active. I only gained 2 lbs in 9 days. Already back on program and at gym. Have a great Alaska vacay. That is next on my list.0

Thank you all!! That's what I kind of figured I would do. Enjoy everything in moderation. I went on a cruise with my daughter last year and didn't gain a pound! This is with dH for our 20th. Just wanted to see what everyone else would do. I don't like tube stuffed feeling so it's not like I'll stuff myself all day. But I like the idea of sharing when we off the ship. I think Alaska is pretty pricey. So this will help both ways0
