48 year old due to medical issues had to completely change eating habits to omit gluten, soy, dairy, sugar, legumes, aspartame, and many other foods. I have to follow eating guidelines such as some of the FODMAP and Paleo programs with changes due to allergies. Anyone else out there with any of these challenges want to support each other in this new journey of eating well and exercise??

I'm in WA and it looks like I eat pretty similarly to you. I'm on a low FODMAP elimination diet at the moment to try to get my IBS under control. In a few weeks I'll be testing things, one at a time. Until then, it's pretty sparse so I feel your pain! I mostly don't eat grains (just occasionally), can't eat aspartame or gluten, have to be careful of dairy but it's cut out at the moment and I don't eat soy or beans (mostly). I still eat sugar but not in vast quantities.0

Yes, we are very similar. I don't eat dairy at all, gluten free, no aspartame, beans, eggs, soy,and very little sugar. I don't eat Much bread any more either and most grains are out as well. I have Fibromyalgia as well as struggling with IBS. How did this journey start for you?0

It was actually my daughter who started it. I lost some weight before my last child was born more than 10 years ago but I didn't have MFP then. My oldest daughter was having some issues so we started doing some elimination diets for her and discovered that many of her issues were related to gluten. When the whole family went gluten free (just because it's easier) we realized that she wasn't the only one. Three of us get migraines if we eat gluten and my husband breaks out in eczema. Making this discovery helped me realize that perhaps my FM was influenced by my diet and so I began trying to figure out what messes me up and what's safe. Still trying to figure it out. I'm really hoping that my body can heal and I can add some of these things back in eventually because at this point I feel like I'm going to be surviving on air and sunshine.0
